HOTFIX (full version) bringing some fixes to day-1 bugs. Please ensure you are using EU3 In Nomine v3.2 NCFK (see the article posted for version details)
Fixes in v1.1:
- Removed an errant save file that was for debugging. Do NOT click on it, it's from a much earlier version of the game! It's gone now, though, anyways
- Fixed the UK's colours. Liberalist UK is light pink, traditionalist UK is dark pink, to differentiate it from dark red Socialist UK
- Changed localization to Defender of Faith in order to make things a bit more realistic
- Changed localization the best I could to remove references to "religion" and in their place put references to ideologies
-Removed tutorial button, this may have caused crashing for anyone unlucky enough to have tried clicking it
- Fixed lack of localization for mission headers
- Fixed some strings over-running the button space
- Fixed some lingering flavour events that would cause some issues
- Fixed Durrani monarch names
- Nerfed National Conscripts, which I forgot to do previously
- In fact, nerfed a bunch of the default idea effects, which were not previously balanced!
- Attempted to reduce the occurrence of Liberal Russian revolutions in like 1830, by changing the way Russian culture responds to antigovernmental sentiment (identically with turkish culture). This means no more liberal russian or turkish revolutions way too early anymore
- Fixed a misaligned pixel in Curacao
- Removed Texan war of Independence from start date since that's no longer a thing
============================================================
Thank you for downloading Victoria Universalis: Vicky2 in EU3!
This is an early release, as such, please keep in mind the game is playable but far from complete. Many features are currently lacking. However, I promise you will have an extremely engaging experience.
Many features are present but require refining and rewriting of event chains to make them more realistic and engaging for both the player and AI. These include:
- European revolutions of 1848
- Appearance of proto-Communism
- Manifest Destiny
- Native Americans
- Civilized and uncivilized countries
- American Civil War, and the slavery debacle
- Japanese reformation and all that Meiji stuff
- Scramble for Africa
- much more
Some features are currently not really implemented at all, and I need to work on getting these into the game:
- Taiping rebellion
- Boer wars, the whole south african boer situation is very, very simplified
- Eventual first world war
- Eventual decolonization of colonized territories
- Much more
Please keep this in mind when leaving your comments. I had to basically create Vic2 in a whole new game, all by myself. It will definitely not be as rich and as event-flavoured and in-depth as even vanilla Vic2, not counting the amazing community mods.
However, this mod is something completely different. Something way more revolutionary, insane and uncharted than that.
Remember, check out the "How to play Victoria Universalis" guide HERE in order not to be extremely confused at the new features and get the best enjoyment from the mod

Any suggestions, bugs, questions, problems, historical inaccuracies or rants, please leave a comment and I'll get back to you ASAP.
Enjoy!
Great mod, it is very well optimized and the game is very light. (Really respecting the soul of In Nomine). My campaign hasn't reached the end of the 19th century yet so I think there's still a lot to see.
One question I have is if you are going to put an older date to have more europa universalis in the game(I felt much more victoria 2 than europa). Dates like after the Congress of Vienna in 1815 or the French Revolution in 1789 or even the Seven Years' War in 1756
I think this would put a little more europe universalis in the game(Westernizing Native empires, exploring unknown continents and all of this happening close to the start date of victoria 2, would in my vision occur a perfect match between the two games
(Westernizing the natives and with them destroying the europeans is always a lot of fun in europa universalis and also in victoria 2)
Also, put the Victoria 2 music in the game too
Again, thank you very much for your talent and your work.
Hello! Thank you very much for your feedback. I'm glad the mod is lightweight and works great for you!
As for going back in time- this mod is just meant to really honour Victoria 2's style. I think what you might enjoy is the next release of "March of the Eagles: Enhanced"
Yes, it's MOTE, so a bit "heavier" than In Nomine, but it will incorporate both the civil war and revolutionary mechanics while taking place in a napoleonic timeframe, which is a bit closer to what you're describing.
As for the natives, currently they don't "work" with the whole system I've created for countries. I could just put in special native countries but, they'd be basically unplayable. You can't do much, you can't civilize, etc. Otherwise I'd have to go ahead and implement full-fledged native countries which would require a full rework of many features... perhaps, perhaps
And for the music and loading screens- EU3 doesn't actually allow a mod to change either of those! That's why all EU3 mods have the generic EU3 music. And the only mods that can change the loadingscreens have to alter the eu3game.exe
If you really want to play with Vic2 music, you can replace the music in the general game folder, but I don't recommend doing that- any mod you'll play after will have the Victoria2 music! :O
my gameplay with Japan is amazing. I'm already crushing China and I'm going to destroy the US. the government system is VERY well done. The communism is amazing
you really focused on everything, including my continent, South America is very well represented.
Hi,I have played the mod for some days and I like it,but i have some problems with it:first, sometimes when I acces the Province Decisions menu it crashes the game(this also happened to me in the In Nome Ultimate and American Civil War mods) and secondly, the game in some moments takes me to the Desktop or it freezes map movement. Also, there is some bug where I keep getting notified about some country changing it's capital every 5 minutes.
Also I have some question:
1)Since this should be the Victorian age,are you planning to add or to replace the manufactories with factories?
2)Why aren't Wallachia and Moldavia present on the map in the start date, since they were only Ottoman vassals and not under direct control?
3)Are planning on adding different unit types, like irregular infantry?
4)(I know that this doesn't have anything with the mod)Hypothetical speaking, how hard is it to add a zombie mod for EU III,like what is seen for EU IV for example?
Hi! Thank you for your comments. I'm really stumped at how it could be crashing only on the province decisions menu. This is kind of necessary for uncivs and the only possibility is if you have some kind of corrupted files in your main game folder. What's your checksum with this mod? I'll go look at mine and advise.
As for taking you to the desktop and freezing (losing focus), this might just be due to some windows thing. It doesn't sound like it has anything to do with the game itself.
Then the bug about changing the capital, does this happen very often? It is possible for a country to get in a changing-capital loop, but it's pretty rare to happen. If it's happening all the time, this might be more evidence pointing towards a corrupted vanilla install.
1. It's actually quite difficult to modify buildings in EU3, but this is a great idea. Once I start delving deeper and learn a bit more about how factories work in Victoria 2, maybe I can change the manufacturies to abstract such a system.
2. These vassels tend to get absorbed fairly quickly, but this is a decent point. I can have them independent and under suzerainty of the Ottomans in the next release.
3. Adding units is also very difficult in EU3, so I think I'll just leave the default 1821 units as-is, at least for now. Eventually I could definitely do a unit overhaul by repurposing old units, changing their states and names, and have new units open up accurately as the year progresses
4. I think that would be fairly easy. You just need to be careful when you code, otherwise you can do things that can cause a crash (make a country disappear via secede_province, for example)
Thanks for your comment and please, try to redownload your main game files or verify the checksum so I can make sure you don't have some corruption
Hi there, just following up... I'm working on the new release, and attempted to completely rework the unit technology so that age-appropriate technology gets progressively unlocked as time goes on. However, I seemed to have done something wrong as the AI won't use the new units and the game crashes consistently now near 1860. I may have to keep the old, boring unit style which means no technological progression (I'm sorry)
Hello, just wanted to let you know I've figured out why people are having issues and crashes with the steam version. I'll update the installation instructions soon
Based and vicky pilled
What programming language you used to make this mod? C++??
Hello! I just scripted in paradox game code, just the language that's used in the events and decisions by the base game.
Greetings. It appears, that I have some kind of bug in this mod. The game crashes evrytime, when i choose nation and click "Play" option in nation choice menu. The exact moment of crash appears when after clokcing "Play" appears "loading city" feature.
I am running this mod in "In Nomine" version 3.2, and put appropraite folders on there right places ( "mod" folder) and started game using eu3.exe, just like it was wrote in "Read Me" file. Any suggestions what could be a root of this problem?
I've dug into this and can confirm the reason everyone's having issues is because there are actually TWO different EU3 In Nomine v3.2 versions.
The one I created this mod on was EU3 Complete, DISK version (a very old version from the 2000s), which installs In Nomine 3.0, and then I manually updated to 3.2 via the In Nomine patcher utility. The checksum (in the bottom right corner of the menu) in the VANILLA game is "NCFK".
When you download EU3 Complete and "downgrade" (remove DLCs) to Eu3 In Nomine v3.2, it's actually a different checksum that appears: JCSR.
Since this mod was created on NCFK, the JCSR version will most likely crash.
I solved this problem by replacing eu3.exe and eu3game.exe from the NCFK versions. All the files are the exact same, so there are somehow some differences within the EXE files themselves.
I probably have no choice but to host the NCFK eu3.exe and eu3game.exe files on Google Drive and have people download + replace. Unless I tell people to go get the original disk and upgrade via the patch, that's the only way.
