The technical demo for Black Isle Studio's Van Buren (cancelled Fallout 3)
Van Buren (Fallout 3)
From Wikipedia:
"Van Buren was the codename given to Fallout 3, a game that was being developed by Black Isle StudiosInterplay Entertainment, laid off the PC development team on December 8, 2003, effectively cancelling the game. Prior to its cancellation, before the parent company, Van Buren was set to carry on the Fallout series as the sequel to Fallout 2. On May 3, 2007, the tech demo of the game was leaked onto the internet.[1]
An official Fallout 3 was developed by Bethesda Softworks after Interplay sold them the single player rights to the franchise. It was released October 28, 2008.[2] Some of the story elements from Van Buren were later used in Fallout: New Vegas, on which some of the Van Buren development team members, like Chris Avellone and Josh Sawyer, also worked on."

nice fallout enviroment! i like it :3
the demo is pretty good actually (for a pre alpha tech demo that is), play as a strength character with big & small gun skill and you should be fine.
The amount of crashes increases if you play as a talker.
it's rly rly slow... but i know... it's only pre alpha tech demo, good than Fallout 3 don't looks like this ;)
Well this technically is Fallout 3. Fallout was originally made by a company called Interplay. Bethesda bought Fallout and Interplay went out of business. Right before Bethesda bought Fallout, Interplay had released their own demo for fallout three but bethesda bought and cancelled the plans making their own fallout 3.
a shame it wont be finished !
Awesome! The real Fallout 3! :D

Okay, everytime I try to open it, it says "cannot find requested mode". Starting to get ****** off because it feels like NO ONE wants to tell me what's wrong, or even acknowledge something is wrong.
same here
It would be actually cool is some fan, or rather fans, would finish the game. It would be a perfect fan-project, to be honest.
