Softcore is a lightweight modification for Alien:Isolation survival horror game which balance weapons and equipment to increase your chances of surviving without destroying game's core.
General mod idea was to improve weakest weapons since it is waste of equipment slots to carry revolver that can barely injure human. After some experimenting, it was findout
that plenty of tweaks can be applied to game and more items got slightly overhauled including amounts of items that can be carried, damage values and radiuses etc. Indeed, with
this mod game might become too easy on some modes so it is meant to be played at least on HARD or NIGHTMARE.
INSTALLATION:
BACKUP all the original files in any case. They are quite lightweight so it won't take up much space on your hard drive.
Put mod files in: Alien Isolation\DATA\ and replace original files.
General mod changes:
tier 2 and 3 EMPs have increased radius;
Molotovs and pipebombs are more effective;
Pistol: Increased damage. Now more effective against synthetics;
Shotgun: slightly increased damage;
Flamethrower: Consumes less ammo per second;
Items and inventory: One more extra item can be carried (4x molotvs, noisemakers, EMP mines, pipebombs etc). Flares and flashlight battery limit has been increased as well.

Well, mods are different. Softcore makes game slightly easier in comparison.
I'm using both, and they seem to be working smoothly with eachother. :3
