Did you want to control Project64 better with your Nintendo 64 controller so you can launch, toggle fullscreen, and exit Project64 with your controller. It is possible to create a more real console experience with N64 games on your PC. This setup will require AntimicroX which is a piece of software to allow you to map keyboard keys and mouse controls to a gamepad.
Start-Toggle Fullscreen (Hold)/Exit Emulator (Hold)
Start + Z-Left Click
Start + D-Pad Down (Hold)-Load Savestate
Start + D-Pad Left (Hold)-Save Savestate
Start + D-Pad Up-Cycle Savestate Slots
Start + Joystick-Mouse
In Project64 go to Controller Plugin load the Player 1.cpf file for Controller 1 and then add the Analog Input. Then for Controllers 2-4 load the Player 2-4.cpf and add all the controller inputs for each controller. Then Click Save.
If your running the emulator in compatibility mode or as a administrator you may need to run Anitmicro under compatibility mode or as a administrator.
