This package has been created to preserve the Portal 2 Sixense MotionPack DLC as it has been deprecated for a very long time since the discontinuation of the Razer Hydra product and support for the Sixense DLC.
This package includes a standalone version of the Portal 2 Sixense MotionPack DLC to be installed alongside Portal 2 and the required Windows Drivers to use the Razer Hydra Controllers with the Sixense DLC. Please read the "Install Instructions.txt" file in order to set up everything and play.
All copyrights go to Valve Software, Sixense, Razer, and Intel.
This package also includes the SteamVR Patch which allows you to play the Sixense DLC with VR Controllers, as well as the inclusion of the Perceptual Pack levels ported by the generous Ossy Flawol (https://www.moddb.com/members/ossyflawol). Open the Extras menu to play those levels.
Other additional content made by Reepblue and Puddy which are borrowed directly from A Little Higher (https://www.moddb.com/members/reepblue/addons/a-little-higher) and Designed for Danger (https://www.moddb.com/mods/designed-for-danger). Open the Extras menu to play those content.
This package does not include the original Portal 2 game and you must have Portal 2 installed to play the Sixense DLC.
I want to play the campaign with this. Can I just modify the contents of my Portal 2 installation to do this? (putting files in normal portal 2, changing gameinfo) Why can't I just do that?
the latest version of portal 2 breaks the sixense dlc in a way that pretty much makes it impossible to play the dlc which is that you have no ability to move your player whatsoever. the only way to solve this is by downgrading to an older version of the portal 2 game which i completely simplified the process by making this package. trying to override the files of the main game will cause a lot of issues to happen
To fix that, you need to opt into the previous_release beta.
as much as that is a solution, it's an inconvenient solution if you'd prefer to have the latest version of the game installed
hey, the game works but it's really stuttery and after a few seconds it crashes. any help?
that sounds like an issue with vulkan. if you're not using vulkan, i don't think there's anything else i can think of that's causing it
This build of the game doesn't have Vulkan mode, it's not that. I had this issue as well but was never able to figure out exactly why, it stopped after I removed my custom content but then didn't come back when I re-added it...
To fix crashes, you need to create a symlink to your Workshop
In Windows, you do this like:
Open Command Shell with admin rights and paste there:
mklink /D "[Your Steam location]\steamapps\common\Portal 2 Sixense MotionPack\portal2_sixense\maps\workshop" "[Your Steam location]\steamapps\common\Portal 2\portal2\maps\workshop"
If your Steam Library is on disk C, then it will look like:
mklink /D "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Portal 2 Sixense MotionPack\portal2_sixense\maps\workshop" "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Portal 2\portal2\maps\workshop"
Would this still work with Co-op?
co-op will only work with people who have the sixense dlc
The Game crashes after the Valve intro. Any ideas why?

When trying to use the vr patch, it doesn't show up in my vr library when i tick of the show in vr library box, runs it as if there was no vr/sixense detected, and it wouldn't let me do any input to it, nor did it place me in the "steamvr theater"
for some reason, steamvr theater just doesn't work for the oculus quest 2 (at least to some people which includes me). what u have to do is disable steamvr theater in the game options before launching the game, and then close the steamvr library ui so that you're just in the steamvr void. you have to take off the headset and put it on your knee (or anything else to put inside the headset) so that the headset won't fall asleep. only then will the controls start working for you

Is there a way to change the VR controls for this? The right stick is just binded to the 'use' and 'jump' buttons and it's nearly frustrating to try and let go of the cube. So is there any way to fix it?
you can try changing the bindings via steamvr controller configuration but it's likely that you're just gonna have to deal with it
That's unfortunate. Though I'll try to change the bindings as you said
I feel that when the SteamVR patch was made, it was designed with the Vive puck controllers in mind which had less buttons. Consequentaly, the Jump shortcut is mapped to the right trackpad click and depends on the touch location, as long as it's anywhere but down. "Use" is only mapped to the bottom of the right trackpad click.
A huge oversight is that the touch of the trackpad moves the camera when in one-to-one mode, which will always happen if you rest your thumb on the trackpad. Also, to let go of the cube with "Use", you have to click on the bottom of the trackpad which also moves the camera if your arm is extended. This makes some of the Motionpack levels much harder to solve, all because someone didn't map the buttons correctly. I have no idea why Use wasn't mapped to the middle of the trackpad, or an auxilary button like the controller grips.
Also, important commands like Zoom and Ping are not bound at all, so the later half of the campaign and co-op are impossible to play.

Is it any possible to run the dlc on a steamdeck with the controls?
The game crashes after saying cannot find backround image on startup :(
The mouse keeps staying on the right or left and I can't change the resolution.
If it would be possible to use a PS3/4/5 controller instead of the Hydra of VR controller that would make this so much better imo.
someone will have to make a custom driver for it, though i'm sure it won't be the best experience especially for a ps3 controller
Having an issue where it wont load into the main menu at all and crashes with no warning. any idea what could be wrong?
running it with the vr patch provided and its in the same common folder as my portal 2 install.
I can't seem to get this working with my vr headset, it crashes after getting past the valve opening. I'm assuming that it has to do with updates breaking the game.
unfortunately, this patch seems to be broken as of 7/5/2023 o:
the game crashes on the loading screen that appears after the Valve & Sixense logos display, without providing any error
double-unfortunately lmao, con_logfile doesn't appear to work in Portal 2 (or at the least, I couldn't get it working..?), so i'm unsure on how to provide useful error reports for this
also for clarification, i've installed it per the instructions (replaced sixense.dll with the SteamVR patch sixense.dll, put the "Portal 2 Sixense MotionPack" folder in Steam/steamapps/common, added the game .exe to Steam via the "Add a Game > Add a Non-Steam Game" menu)
there's nothing i can do about that, the steamvr patch is from an old github page that hasn't been updated in ages. game still works with the razer hydra controllers, though!

ok so i was able to get it to work earlier and play through the tutorial level, now however its overly sensitive (using steamvr patch) so its actually impossible to play
Is it possible to play this with Quest 2 controllers through Air Link?
Is there a way to play other portal 2 mods with the motionpack?
Not sure if it's an issue with the recent theater update in steamvr, but it seems like the motion controls don't work because the laser mouse overrides them when you point at the screen. Anyone know of a workaround?
hey there, after figuring out how to get this to work i started playing with my valve index controllers and some of the bindings feel weird. the buttons that interact with objects are also bindings that move the camera as well? also when using one to one the camera moves down unless my thumb is on the trackpad or right thumbstick, which are the above bindings that move the camera, so making precise movement with one to one is extremely difficult.
How did you get this to work? Mine keeps crashing
ShygalCoco do you have a build without the extra content (A Little Higher and Designed for Danger)?
I'm looking for an unmodified original.
you can actually quickly do that by deleting the "portal2_mappacks" folder and renaming "extras_old.txt" in "portal2_sixense\scripts" to "extras.txt"
