NFS Underground with path tracing. Alpha version early access, WIP.
Need For Speed Underground RTX mod, path traced global/direct illumination, upscaled textures, more than 1000 lights added, some textures was generated by Stable Diffusion. It is early alpha version, 80% of lighting job is done, some cars are matte, just few cars have headlights at this moment (skyline, mx5). This is my first mod, I'm making it alone.
known bugs:
- car reflections isn't perfect
- matte npc cars
System requirements:

VRAM >= 8GB
Nvidia RTX 30** or higher.
AMD RX6000 or higher (not tested)

Installation:
Unzip and copy content of mod directory to game root folder

Resolution:
Resolution is set to 4K by default.
To set custom resolution edit "scripts/NFSUnderground.WidescreenFix.ini" file.
Game settings:
Video - Set everything to HIGH except shadows and reflections.

Thanks for working on this! Very cool. Unfortunately, I can't get it to launch. The game launches normally using "Speed.exe" before installing the mod, but once I copy the contents of the "mod" folder to the game folder, neither NvRemixLauncher32.exe or Speed.exe will launch at all.
Some people says it didn't work on their PC, I'm still trying to figure out this issue, I think it is rtx-remix or dx wrapper issue. Try to rename "dinput8.dll" to "dsound.dll".

Everything works even with a Russian repack, you won't find a license right now. But 1 time the game froze and crashed

It starts the game on an AMD 7900 XT graphics card, but unfortunately there is no image. I would really apreciate if you help.

Got it working! Big thank you for the cool mod. this was a fun thing to figure out how to get working. I had a couple difficulties setting this up. So i thought i'd provide some info that would have helped me in hopes that it might help others.
Things i found that were necessary to do this was...
The 1.4 speed.exe patch from internet archive "Need for Speed: Underground [L] [ENG / ENG] (2003) (1.4)" just the "speed.exe" to be replaced NOT the europe patch.
The wide screen mod with the NFSUnderground.WidescreenFix.ini settings being configured as so *absolutely necessary*
SkipIntro and set to 1
WindowedMode and set to 5
and the rtx mod files being moved into the game directory location of course.
Through experimentation of different versions of the game that I found and tested.
I was only able to do this with the single iso versions and not the dual iso versions of the game. I couldnt get any dual iso versions to work at all. but thats just me!

I would love a version that doesn't replace the music because the original music just sounds so much better than hearing the f-bomb every 5 seconds
