Nobunaga's Ambition: Sphere of Influence Historical Rebalance. Please read the download instructions below.
Features:
- A complete rebalance. Every single officer ingame has been edited; the only exceptions are the unlockable historical officers. Some of these edits are major, some are minor – but most are nerfs.
- This is a deflationary rebalance. Across the board, stats have been reduced; special attention has been paid to the unifier clans (Oda, Tokugawa, Toyotomi) who have a lot more officers than many other clans, many of who are only marginally historically relevant. The end result is that many regional clans will now, typically, have a higher average median for their officers, and officers with exceptional stats are now more pronounced.
- Famous officers are now more distinctive. Part of this is the stat rebalance: there is only one officer who will have a stat in 100-90 range, and only five who have a stat in 89-80 range. E.G. only Shingen Takeda has 100 LEA, and only five officers have 89 LEA. The other part to this is that growth types and tactics have been extensively edited as well. Tactics such as Vanguard, Win or Die, Technician and Imposing Guardian are a little more common, while some clan specific tactics such as The Kuroda Warriors and Five Color Brigade are also a little more common within their clans. Most importantly, growth types are much more sensible.
- Growth Types have been extensively reassigned. There is a more pronounced hierarchy in terms of growth type availability. Many niche growth types such as Luring and Cannon will have more officers assigned to them, while growth types such as Brave or Ogre are less common than their weaker counterparts. Mediocre officers will not randomly have Brave or Regent growth types, and basic growth types are much more common even as more famous officers enjoy more distinct growth types. Officers with Blademaster or Diplomatic Monk growth types also have had their stats reduced on account of having incredibly powerful abilities and tactics available from the get-go.
- Officers are harder to manage. The median tier and required loyalty of officers has been increased. Officers are now more expensive to employ; there are no more ‘C’ tier officers (100 gold), with any officer having a stat at 70 or higher being an ‘S’ tier (400 gold), and many mediocre officers coming from historically important families also have a higher tier. 7 is now the floor for officer loyalty, with most having 10-12 Req Loyalty to make recruiting and keeping all the officers of a conquered clan much more difficult, as well as making collusion more useful. Most daimyo, especially the major ones, have Req Loyalty in the 13-15 range, and the ideals and tenets of officers have been changed accordingly.
- Clan tenets are much more historical. Tenets have been changed to follow two broad trends – how ideology typically works IRL, and what policies certain clans endorsed or what was common in what region. Subsequently, the median tenet will gradually move towards PGRS over the course of the game. There are no PRGS Daimyo in 1534; even many of the clans who are supposed to be NTRL or PGRS later start out CNSV in 1534. By 1548 most of the clans who are supposed to be NTRL will be, but the only PGRS clan is the Matsuura. There are a handful of PGRS clans by 1562, but the only one outside of Kyushu is the Oda. At 1600, PGRS clans are the most common. This isn’t a universal trend however: the clans native to Shikoku and Tohoku will remain predominantly CNSV over the course of the game, with main deviation (if any) being into NTRL. Clans will typically have a little more ideological variance in them, and those who historically experienced infighting over centralization or policy changes (such as the Ouchi and Nanbu) will have that ideological dissent more pronounced.
How to install:
After downloading the NASoI Rebalance folder, unzip or drag and drop the HDATA000.14H file contained within into your SoI SETDATA directory. Assuming you went with the default installation for SoI, the path should be “Documents>TecmoKoei>NOBU14PK_EN>EDIT>SETDATA”. When asked to overwrite, select yes. Boot up NA:SoI and click on Edit Historical Officer. If you see “Edit 1864/1915” on the righthand side, then you’ve successfully installed it.
WARNING: This will overwrite any edits to historical officers you have made beforehand. If you want to save those, copy and paste your HDATA000.14H file somewhere else before installing the mod. If you want to go back to them, simply copy and paste the backup into the SETDATA directory and you should be good to go. This mod will not affect any created officer data.
