This mod brings several QoL changes into the single-player campaign of Call of Duty 2 such as HD fonts, sprint mode, adding Beta content, user-friendly pause menu, bug fixes, etc.
Click the 'Download now!' button and wait for the download to complete.
1) 'Letlev Edition' mod come in a .zip file, that you can extract easily with Windows File Explorer (Windows 7 or higher) or 7-Zip. To unpack the archive, right click on LetlevEdition_EN.zip and if you have either of the previously mentioned apps installed, you should have an option to 'unzip' or decompress the .zip file.
2) Once the file is unzipped, you should now have a 'LetlevEdition_EN' folder wherever you choose to extract the .zip archive. This folder contains all the mod's data.
3) Now, you need to move the contents of this 'LetlevEdition_EN' folder in Call of Duty 2 installation folder - where the game's files are stored.
4) If you are the owner of CoD2 retail CD/DVD version: open File Explorer window (via 'This PC' icon in Start menu or ⊞Win+E keyboard shortcut) and go to 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Call of Duty 2' (this is the default installation location). If the path to the installation folder is different, you can find it by searching for 'Call of Duty 2' in Start menu and selecting 'Open file location' in the context menu.
If you are the owner of CoD2 digital version (Steam): to locate your game installation on Steam, right click on 'Call of Duty 2' in your Library, go to the 'Manage' tab and then select 'Browse local files' button. File Explorer window to '..\steamapps\common\Call of Duty 2' should open within seconds.
5) Simply place the contents of the folder you downloaded and extract earlier into opened 'Call of Duty 2' folder. Agree to replace already existing files when File Explorer asks you about it. Note that '_LetlevEdition_English.bat' file and 'letlev_edition' folder will be located next to CoD2SP_s.exe.
6) If you have already downloaded and installed v1.0, then you need to install 'Letlev Edition' patch (link to v1.1 patch) to update the mod's files using the above steps.
If you are the owner of CoD2 retail CD/DVD version, simply run '_LetlevEdition_English.bat' file from Call of Duty 2 installation folder. When you launch the mod for the first time, you should set default controls and restore general settings to its default (optimal) values in 'Options' menu.
If you are the owner of CoD2 Steam version:
Method 1 - launch the mod via .bat file
1) Open File Explorer window, copy Steam.dll file from 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam' and paste it into Call of Duty 2 installation folder. This step is necessary to avoid 'Failed to find Steam' error and only needs to be performed once.
2) Run your Steam client (Steam.exe).
3) Run '_LetlevEdition_English.bat' file from Call of Duty 2 installation folder.
Method 2 - launch the mod directly from Steam
1) Go to 'letlev_edition' folder and delete all .iwd files containing 'Russian' in their names (in Method 1 this action occurs automatically thanks to .bat file).
2) Run your Steam client (Steam.exe).
3) Go to your Steam library, and right click on 'Call of Duty 2'. Go to 'Properties...'.
4) In the 'General' tab you will see 'Launch options' title.
The input box below the title should be empty if you never touched it before. In that text field, you can put various codes that the game will execute at launch. Note that these options will always stay on until you manually delete them by open that box again and changing its content.
For 'Letlev Edition', you will need to input the line as follows:
+set fs_game letlev_edition +set loc_language 0 +seta cg_subtitleWidthWidescreen "51" +seta com_introplayed "1" +set r_optimize "0"
Close the window when you're done. Note that steps 2–3 only needs to be performed once.
5) Click on '▷ Play' next to 'Call of Duty 2' title.
• When you launch the mod for the first time, you should set default controls and restore general settings to its default (optimal) values in 'Options' menu
• MENU_INCOMPATIBILITY errors - check if the mod's language matches the CoD2 language

Good job

Can you do a patch for Spanish localization? Thx
Unfortunately, this will be difficult to do because I don't know Spanish, and 'Letlev Edition' mod's files affect in-game text. I'll try to check the possibility of releasing a 'universal' version without text edits with v1.2, but I can't make any promises or give you an ETA.
Basic support for all languages is available in v1.2
