Description:
------------
This mod adds Imperial stormtroopers to Knights of the Old Republic. There are
two options for altering the game. Either or both options can be used as one time.
OPTION 1: Player Wearable Stormtrooper Armour
********
This adds stormtrooper armour that is wearable by players and party NPCs. The mod
includes both the body armour suit and a helmet, and they can be equiped independently
of each other. Along with altering the characters appearance, the stormtrooper armour
provides the following bonuses to the player characters:
Body Armour:
Defense +10
Max Dexterity Bonus +0
Limited environmental protection
Helmet:
Awareness +2
Files for Option 1:
PMBH15.tga - texture for the stormtrooper armour suit
helmet.tga - texture for the stormtrooper helmet
ia_class9_015.tga - inventorty icon for the armour suit
ii_mask_099.tga - inventory icon for the helmet
i_mask_099.mdl - helmet model mdl file
i_mask_099.mdx - helmet model mdx file
helmet.txi - texture reflectiveness specification
storm_armour.uti - armour suit parameters and specifications
storm_helmet.uti - helmet parameters and specifications
lev40_armlock001.utp - item placement to add new equipment to the game as "treasure"
OPTION 2: Sith Trooper Replacement
********
This replaces all the Sith troopers (the guys with the shiny metalic armour) with
Imperial stormtroopers. All other features and behaviors of the Sith troopers will
remain the same, with only their appearance altered. This also alters the Sith
disquise as well.
Files for Option 2:
PMBH01.tga - texture for the stormtrooper armour suit
helmet.tga - texture for the stormtrooper helmet (this is the same file as for Option 1)
STHA04.mdl - helmet model mdl file
STHA04.mdx - helmet model mdx file
heads.2da - adds the helmet as a new head for the Sith troopers
appearance.2da - adds the armour for the Sith troopers to wear
Installation:
-------------
OPTION 1:
1. Extract all the files listed under Option 1 above into the Override folder in the
Knights of the Old Republic directory. This allows the armour to be found during
the course of the game.
2. Using the "giveitem" cheat command (OPTIONAL!)
This method will add the armour and helmet to the player character's inventory.
To enable cheats, in your game directory edit swkotor.ini and under [Game Options]
add EnableCheats=1. Start the game then when playing press ' to bring down the console
prompt, which appears as a ">" in the upper left corner.
At the console prompt, type "giveitem storm_armour" to add the armour suit to the
inventory. To add the helmet, type "giveitem storm_helmet". These can then be equiped
by the player from the inventory screen.
OPTION 2:
Extract all the files listed under Option 2 above into the Override folder in the
Knights of the Old Republic directory. Note that the helmet.tga file is the same for
both options. The Sith troopers will automatically be replaced.
OPTION 1 & OPTION 2:
Extract all the files into the Override folder in the Knights of the Old Republic
directory. The player wearable armour can still be added using the cheat commands
explained above.
Uninstalling
------------
Simply remove the files from the Override directory.
Known Issues:
-------------
Version 1.1 fixes the issue of certain Sith troopers on the Star Forge not having an
armour texture. It also fixes the issue of the Jedi Nemo having a faulty robe texture.
When the Sith troopers are replaced with the stormtroopers, they loose their head
animations. The result is their necks appear "stiff". This shouldn't be
too noticable though.
If you use the Sith trooper replacement option, one of the heavy armour skins will be
replaced by the stormtrooper skin.
If you encounter other issues, please report them to the email address specified above.
We will do what we can to correct them.
NOTE: if you already have a modified appearance.2da or heads.2da file in your Override
directory, DO NOT replace those with the versions included in this mod. This will
have undesirable affects on the other mods. You will have to choose which mod you
want to use.
