Hello, a new big update has been released - it's a beta-release and still is lacking things like music, custom voices and more scripts and features. The mod had to be basically re-done on a new map after Peaman ported SoulGamesInc's map replacing the old small and outdated alpha-map. The new version of GoT Enhanced has a huge map, more units, a huge number of custom heroes with unique models, scripts that will spawn the Wildlings, Targaryens and the Others, it has new strat-map models for both generals and cities, it has new playable factions - House Targaryen, The Wildlings, The Nights Watch, The Free Cities of Essos and The Others - beware that the last one isn't really supposed to be playable due to this mod being set during Season 3 - this means that The Others won't have any units recruitable, and instead will spawn armies at certain turns. This faction is still a WIP and Firestorm didn't intend for it to be playable - but I know that people would want to play as them. New Robb!
Installation:
1. You need to go into the folder named "Medieval II Total War" and then copy the file named "medieval2.exe" - then rename the copied file to kingdoms.exe. This is needed or the mod won't launch with Steam.
2. You do need to patch the medieval2.exe and the kingdoms.exe with a program named "4gb patch" found at this link:
Moddb.com
3. It's a program, extract it anywhere on your computer, then run it as an administrator - then browse to both .exe-files inside of the "Medieval II Total War"-folder and select one of them and click on "patch" - then repeat the process with the other one.
4. You need to have just one folder named "GoT" as in "Steam\steamapps\common\Medieval II Total War\mods\GoT - and then You'll start it by double-cllicking the executable.bat-file of the mod.
5. With the CD instead it would be "D:\Games\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\GoT - and you'll still start it by double-clicking on the executable.bat-file.
Hello, a new big update has been released - it's a beta-release and still is lacking things like music, custom voices and more scripts and features.
The mod had to be basically re-done on a new map after Peaman ported SoulGamesInc's map replacing the old small and outdated alpha-map.
The new version of GoT Enhanced has:
1. A new huge map expanding in Westeros in all directions - with parts of Essos, "Beyond the Wall" and many new regions in Westeros itself.
2. More units for most factions, including the first real Wildling/Freefolk roster, new dragons, mammoths, giants and such.
3. A huge number of custom heroes with unique models, using heads by the highly skilled TheScouseSicario the heroes are from most factions and it's over 50 new characters - Peaman offered us at least 30 models but some of them have been edited afterwards.
4. New Scripts that will spawn the Wildlings, Targaryens and the Others in the campaign on certain turns, expect Daenarys to spawn around turn 51, same with the strongest forces of the Others and the Giants/mammoths of the Wildlings will spawn earlier at about turn 20.
5. The map has new strat-map models for both generals and cities - rigged by mostly Peaman, and a few strat-generals were rigged by Bantu Chieftain.
6. New playable factions - House Targaryen, The Wildlings, The Nights Watch, The Free Cities of Essos and The Others - beware that the last one isn't really supposed to be playable due to this mod being set during season 3 - this means that The Others won't have any units recruitable, and instead will spawn armies at certain turns. This faction is still a WIP and Firestorm didn't intend for it to be playable - but I know that people would want to play as them.
7. New intro-videos for the Wildlings, Free Cities of Essos, The Others and House Targaryen.
- Play the game to find out more - it's a vastly improved mod compared to in the past, and it's not final - also the map should be 100% stable and you don't need to play a custom battle before entering the campaign anymore. Battles might game-lock or CTD but hopefully they don't - I haven't played enough to know for certain. I think it should be very stable!
- Dragons, mammoths and giants might CTD on Windows 10 computers - I am not sure if this is the case or not.
The dragons are re-skinned Warhammer Alt-Cut dragons so if those work on win 10 without a CTD these should work, the Giants are old Warhammer models and might not be as stable, the mammoths are also from the first mod mentioned and should hopefully be stable.
Credits (I can't remember everyone at the moment but I will try,):
- Westeros: Total War for the old mod that started it all and for the custom settlements - also makayane for said cities.
- Game of Thrones: Enhanced Submod V 3.0 and earlier - in particular Inarus and his team, vecause they are the original creators and made the original art-mod back when the models were all vanilla - they also did the voices, strat-model cities of the oldest versions and many of the images and portraits - not to forgot many of the old scripts. Not that many old scripts have been re-implemented yet though.
- Peaman for some battle-models from Fire & Blood, quite a few strat-model generals and cities from Fire & Blood.
- Warhammer Alt-Cut and it's creator Kalla for the Warhammer animations, the dragon models and the mammoths - the skins of the dragons are by peaman.
- Firestorm for just above half the work on this version - he did edit the new models/units, implement many things on the new map, add new cards and did most of the new stuff seen here. However, I had simultaneously done most f the same work on another version (the original, there were two versions of the mod with the new map and models - one worked on by me and one by Firestorm - but only Firestorms version allowed new scripts - and only with Firestorm's version could we get rid of the old "Play a custom battle first"-bug. So Firestorm had come a bit further than me even though I had pretty much re-added everything from the old version ont he new map and after that added the new factions. But I hadn't added the Others or the Free Cities yet - that's when we moved to Firestorms submod and made that the new version.
- TheScouseSicario for all the wonderful new heads of all the new custom heroes.
- VltimaRatio for all the GoT Enhanced base-models and old models.
- DBM (De Bello Mundi) for the Wildling "Albian/Scottish" custom settlements in battle.
- Makayane for the new "Great Wall" custom settlement in battle - used by Castle Black and the other two castles. - I managed to make it work after some tinkering with the files, as it was in Westeros 1.0 but always did CTD (crash to desktop) when attempting to play a battle there.
- The Italian "Song of Ice and Fire"-mod and it's creator for the Castle Black strat-model - also in use by the other castles at the wall.
Alright. and that's it - so Peaman sent me a whole bunch of strat-map cities and I am using those with his permisison. I've removed the latest strat-cities by Inarus because I wasn't sure he would allow them in the mod. The old ones were already in the mod. If there are any strat-map cities still in the mod that Peaman didn't have permission to hand out to me then I will remove them if anyone writes to me - no problem. I saw that he was still using the Inarus-models and they are removed. I can't know who made what settlement though so if there is an issue I'll remove it when told about it.
I am counting on Peaman that he didn't send me a model that will cause trouble.
Cheers
EDIT: Oldtown city strat-model replaced because it was added due to a misunderstanding. It was one of the models Peaman sent but it belonged to someone else - it's been replaced with Peamans latest Oldtown-model.
Second EDIT: I had managed to delete the Kings Landing strat-model when I deleted Casterly Rock and Lannisport, it's now been re-added to the mod - all the three models are Inarus's models but Kings Landing is one of the older that were already in the mod.
Third Edit: I had made a mistake in the descr_scripts-file causing the mod to always CTD (crash to desktop) at turn 31 when Daario Naharis spawned with his army for House Targaryen- the reason was the name of the "Golden Company Cavalry"-unit - it was wrongly named "Golden Company Knights" due to that being the old name in the older version of the mod. I didn't remember that Firestorm had changed the name, but after changing the two entries the CTD ceased to happen - and I did just let the AI play for over 213 turns without any issues.
I've also replaced the Robb Stark-model by Firestorm with the one that Peaman rigged - the model and it's files are still in the folders with an altered name if anyone prefer it over the new. I think the head of the older one had higher resolution, but the new model is more close to the TV-show - and it also makes it stand-out from Bran, Rickon, Ned and Jon.

Hi do I need to delete the old version before installing this one?
Yes, it's a fresh new install.
Also, the folder should be named GoT and not GoT_Enhanced anymore.
Thanks for quick reply
Why are much fewer princess and their charms are those that do have a low charm? But anyway I am likening the game for the Stark's because of the new units and new settlements. And I mostly like when you start with the Stark. You’re not cut off between Jamie and Tywin lannister.
Traits and ancillaries weren't prioritized as they are known to be cause for CTD (crash to desktop) - the mod was basically re-done from scratch when it came to the campaign map, and as such many things had to be re-implemented - as the family members/generals all had to be implemented again from scratch, so would the agents - I believe in the old version the traits and ancillaries had more work done on them. But they might have been one of the reasons it was so unstable.
In the future new traits and ancillaries could be added but we wanted to have a stable base. The most important thing is stability, so I were actively against any thoughts about adding more traits/ancillaries before the first release were out. At least now we have something stable that we can go back to if future additions are causing instability.
Yes, there are some differences in where units start now. And the giant map has some interesting strategic choke-points.
There are the same number of princesses as GoT Enhanced 5.0. Asha Greyjoy was removed as a princess and now is a general, with a custom model. She is also the faction heir, since both in the books and show, Balon Greyjoy and most Ironborn preferred her over Theon. As for the traits and ancillaries, I've added many more. Not just the heraldry for the new settlements on the map but also many new types, like weapons (Longlaw, Red Rain) and specific ancillaries aimed for the Wildlings and the Night's Watch (Horn of Winter, First Ranger, Builder, Steward). As for the traits, I removed the problematic ones showed in the log and added a few new ones, mainly nicknames (Littlefinger, the Red Viper, Giantsbane, Lord of Bones ect)-Firestorm
Alright I see. But he is saying that the princesses are worse now and has lesser skills in charming characters.
Yes, I do know that you added ancillaries for gameplay reasons at the start of the game. But I also believe I had the line that any traits should be avoided. I guess if you added that it was not something I knew about - but as long as it is stable no problems.
The princesses are pretty much the same I believe. Didn't work too much over them. Don't worry, the traits I've added won't cause any instability. As far as I know, the ancillaries don't cause any CTDs, if the trigger is wrong, the ancillary won't start but it won't ctd
Alright, good to know - Without your work half the content would be cut so you did great.
I mean I still would have had Soul's map and all the old stuff plus a few new things from Fire & Blood - but your Wildlings/new units, heroes and balance made a big difference.
This is a lovely and very stable mod so far very good please continue it. Hi I seen elephant recruit in white harbour are those dragons?
I don't know for certain, maybe Golden Company Elephants - Firestorm would know better as he did the recruitment in this new version.
Thanks for the positive praise.
Hi, I get a crash when I want to run the mod. After the launching screen I get error " Medieval 2 total war enchanter an unspesifite error". Is there anything I can do to fix it?
Make sure that your Medieval2.exe and Kingdoms.exe are patched with the 4gb patch.
Or the mod will be too heavy for the game to handle.
Edit: The mod might not work on a MAC.
I'm getting graphics error, i have seen someone wrote about he/she is getting the fatal graphics error too and you wrote same things to his comment. But i cant understand what does it mean. What you want to mean that".... are patched with the 4gb patch." Can you explain this. Thanks.
I fix the problems with your solutions, thank you. But this time only for the targeryens campaign or custom battle i get the unspesifite error. I did everything you wrote. I can play as lannisters, starks.... But when i try targeryens i get this error. What should i do?
There shouldn't be any issues playing the Targaryens.
Exactly how did you install the mod?
Did you merge the mod with any older mod?
Cause it's not supposed to be merged or mixed with anything else.
I install exactly in the videos about how to install this mod. As I said I can play this mode with your solutions. I did not have this mode in the past, I install it for the first time. But only thing is, I cant patch medieval.exe, I can patch only kingdoms.exe and launcher.exe.
There are no videos for how to install the latest version.
Just follow the text and ignore any old videos for earlier versions.
There is no launcher either.
how do I do the patch thing.
2. You do need to patch the medieval2.exe and the kingdoms.exe with a program named "4gb patch" found at this link:

Or watch these videos and only do the "copy medieval 2.exe and rename it kingdoms.exe" and the "patch both the .exe-files with the 4gb patch program" - You run the program by double-clicking on the file after extracting it from the RAR-archive using WINRAR - use the latest version of WINRAR..
Is there something wrong with braavos? I cannot seem to siege it, even though ai managed to siege it few turns ago.
I think you may need to go there by ship.
Go where exactly? I landed my troops with the ship on their bottom side, cant seem to siege it. And the right side isnt even connected so cant do that either.
You can siege it from the north of the settlement, the custom strat-map model is in the way so you cannot spot the path.
When I try to enter the mod it gives an error,I just installed
"Medieval 2 Total War encountered an unspecified error and will now exit"
Read the installation-instructions at the top of the article that i published.
- You've probably not followed those steps.

I did the 4gb process all right so far I tried to enter campaign mode but it wasn’t
"getting graphics error""
Did you merge or mix this mod with any other mod?
It shouldn't be placed on an old folder or something.

EDIT: I just did the 4GB process in medieval2.exe because when I get both error
I have a very difficult time understanding what you are saying.
Put the patch on?
Some people have failed to install the patch because they don't understand how to use the file - it's a program that needs running.
Well I downloaded the mod, put it in the mods folder, put the kingdoms, put the 4GB patch on medieval2.exe, but the campaign will not go at all I did everything right every time I try to create a graphical error campaign
Nope, You do need to place the copy of kingdoms.exe in the main Medieval II folder - not the mod-folder. And Kingdoms.exe should be patched as well.
I put the kingdoms.exe in the Medieval II folder, but when I correct the kingdoms, the game also doesn’t enter
This is what happens when I correct the kingdoms and the medieval2
ERROR:the application cannot be started correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application
Do you own the Steam-version or the CD-version?
is a pirate version, more functional
If it's the pirated CD-version You'd have the trouble of not only downloading Medieval 2: Total War but You'll also need to install the Kingdoms Expansion - this is true for the legal copy as well if it's the CD - You'd need the Kingdoms expansion pack installed and not just Medieval 2.
And that's not all as You'd also need the latest patch for the game - and it's always annoying to find all the smaller official patches.
- So Medieval 2: Total War on CD will require the Kingdoms Expansion and all the official patches - and you'll have to find them on Google yourself.
I had that issue a few months back where I had to find all the official patches for the CD-version when installing Med2 with mods on an old computer.
If it's a pirated version of Steam then I don't know a lot about it. Maybe you should get a legal version. But mods do work with the pirated CD-version as long as it's updated to the latest patch from CA.

The mod requires Westeros Total War, if so, 1.0 or 53? Or is he independent?
It doesn't require Westeros 1.0. It's independent.
Only the old versions from before 2014 required Westeros.
Thank you for the clarification.

The mod before this works however this one doesn't seem to. Any thoughts? It says med had a unspecified error and will now exit. Any thoughts.

5. With the CD instead it would be "D:\Games\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\GoT - and you'll still start it by double-clicking on the executable.bat-file.
6. Also, before playing with the uploaded patch applied (not the 4gb ram patch, but the one I uploaded to fix issues in the mod,) You'd need to delete the .rwm-file inside of GoT/data/world/maps/base.
7. The new version of the mod isn't save-game compatible, so you'll need to restart your campaigns.
8. The uploaded patch fixing the wildlings, Dragons and the Nights Watch diplomacy while also adding the missing hero model of Edric Storm/Gendry to battles for House Renly is NOT save-game compatible with the version that isn't patched - You'd need to restart your campaigns.
