This mod will enable first person mode during normal gameplay. The game itself features first person mode only on little VR missions. This mod will allow you to play the whole game in first person mode!

Awesome work, actually works great with keyboard and mouse if you edit the key configs (I can post my kb.ini file as an example) and do a little work. You can get traditional FPS controls, which to me is far superior to a controller and really gives new life to this classic.
Note: If you have V's fix and want to use KB/mouse, don't use the new launcher, use the old one. The new launcher will not enable the 'use mouse as Right stick' flag as far as I know. You can still edit the resolution in the 'MGS2SSET' file for 1080p, and should still be able to get any other graphical enhancement. I still don't not know of any way to add the mouse left/right clicks to the kb.ini file, but if have the logitech gaming software or Autohotkey you can easily re-map them externally. I haven't quite perfected it but will test further.

Sorry for the delay man, this only works if you have Logitech gaming software with a compatible mouse so that you can remap mouse keys, because I couldn't find how to enter right/left click into the .ini file. You can also use autohotkey but it didn't work as well, and I'm sure there are other methods. In my case, I have the 'h' key mapped to left click, and 'u' mapped to right. I've played through the campaign and VR missions, it's not perfect and can be cumbersome at times (they made the game about as un-keyboard friendly as possible), but I'm still enjoying it. Remember, do not launch the game from V's custom launcher, just run 'MGS2_sse.exe'. Let me know if you have any other questions, this is what my .ini looks like:

No prob! So you can switch to FP view by holding the right mouse for a second. You can also walk with Lcontrol, and to release the weapon without firing, after you’ve raised it, hold shift and release the left mouse. It takes some getting used to, especially with menus lol. Let me know if you find any improvements.
Hi, I'm trying to set up keyboard and mouse with this mod, what do you mean by the 'use mouse as Right stick' flag? Is it a line I add to one of the .ini files?
I did find the option for Right Stick = Mouse in the original launcher, but selecting it does nothing. I also found in one of the config files, there's a line that says "MSStick=1", but the value of that being 1 or 0 changes nothing for me. Am I doing this wrong? Pls let me know because playing MGS2 with mouse aiming would be pretty cool
Most of the textures and models just disappear to me when i use this mod with V's Fix
Did you get that message from V's fix saying you had 2 different graphics interpreters or something like that? I had a similar problem with that error, and reinstalling the game and getting the 2.0 patch fixed it for me
I dunno if the modder still bothers, but I tried it with the GOG version to no avail. Just a black screen, can't even quit without task manager.
