DS2 Legendary Mod v1.01 file

After 8 years from its first conception and 6 years of my own involvement, the Dungeon Siege 2 Legendary Mod has finally achieved full release status.

Since beta 30 there has been hundreds of bug fixes, tweaks and further enhancements to the mod which is more of a remaster of the original game than a mere port of the old maps to a newer game engine. Being a mod means that the old maps, Kingdom of Ehb, Utraean Peninsula, Legends of Aranna and Yesterhaven can be played both in conjunction with and together with the Dungeon Siege 2 campaign and Broken World. In fact the Broken World expansion isn't even required to run the mod, it'll happily play in just Dungeon Siege 2.

Installation is simpler than ever, only the presence of Dungeon Siege 2 is required to run the mod, which is presented as a single 1.18 GB download. Just run the installer and locate the folder where Dungeon Siege 2 is installed. If the Broken World expansion is installed the mod will support it automatically if run through the Broken World shortcut. For convenience 3 versions of the Elys All*Saves launcher is included to facilitate running Dungeon Siege 2 with mods, just choose the correct version at the end of the installation process (Dungeon Siege 2, Dungeon Siege 2 Broken World or the Steam version of Dungeon Siege 2).

The mod even supports other mods without compatibility issues, some of which have been included so to configure the main mod more to your preference or add extra items from Dungeon Siege 1. A simple mod manager even makes loading these small mods easy for any user.

A comprehensive manual helps explains the extra features that the mod adds even to Dungeon Siege 2 and even provides possible workarounds to incompatibilities that exist with Dungeon Siege 2 under the latest versions of Windows 10 - the infamous disappearing mouse in the main menu issue. The manual also lists credits to all the people who have helped make this mod a reality and tested it to help iron out the bugs.
