Everybody knows that Overwatch comes with full controller support, but what if you'd like to change it? Here is a custom Overwatch controller support setting that permits to play the game some other way! Or to inspire you to make your own personal config for this game.
Let's start with the basics: a few things you'd better find out before you try reWASD. It works by using an emulated keyboard, and the main thing you need to do is to add keyboard mappings to controller buttons. Once the configuration is applied assigned keyboard bindings will reproduce after the controller buttons are pressed.
Specifically for this config: since Overwatch controller support is not a myth, you need to turn off native controller support by using Unmaps before you add your custom mappings. We decided to turn everything off first, and then add all the keyboard keys the way we consider it better! You should keep in mind that you can leave most controls native, and add only several keys that don't seem in the right place.
We used the default in-game controls scheme for making this config, so if you have modified layout you need to whether reset to default or change the bindings inside the config according to your in-game settings. You can modify the config if you need to :)
Seems like you're ready to check out this controller support preset in action! There are a few steps you need to complete to enable this config:
- Download and install reWASD (you can use a 14-day trial for basic functionality, and 3-day trial for each advanced feature)
- Download the GTA San Andreas controller support file from moddb.com and import is to reWASD
- Plug in your gamepad and press Apply
Done! Now you can launch the game and play with controller :)
