Having trouble getting the mod to work

I have a bit of an issue, I've installed the mod, and the latest version of .NET (I hope it's correct), yet every time I start up big-squads mod, it instantly shows up if I want to update the archive -which means it didn't work- Help please...
I dont think the mod works as I dont see any troops in the squads tarkus still has 3 plus himself cyrus has 2 plus himself so when will i notice a change? I just finish the first mission now working on the second one
