It won't let me unpack the file. It just says there's an error opening the archive. It says the problem is probably to do with disc space or that the archive is damaged or partial

Guys: Please read the User Guide about how to install the mod. If you follow the guide, it will work. There is a new mod "Boot.pack" that must be handled in a special way... best to start NTW vanilla... then exit. Next remove the vanilla "boot.pack" file. Then install the mod, this will fix any "will not start" issues.
There are two maps which I messed up on packing so they will crash on load: McPherson's Ridge and Marye's Heights.
There is NO CAMPAIGN. This is explained about everywhere. NTW cannot be modded for a new campaign map, at least not a US map.

this mod looks very cooll and you can see the amount of work put into it is extensive! but the installation process is so unbelievably redundant and over complicated. I unfortunately cannot reccomend it.
The install requires 4 steps...
1. remove any other mods from /data
2. open the .rar download
3. drag the "acw_" pack files from the .rar to /data
4. drag and drop the "user.script" file from the .rar to the /scripts directory.
The User Guide clearly defines all of this in full details as do several community made install videos. If anyone has any sense of how to navigate their PC and has played mods before, this is practical and easily done in two minutes.
To pan a mod because an individual cannot comprehend these few steps is in poor taste. If an installer was provided, the time and user-input would be little less.
Great work, the game actually feels like strategy is needed with the new maps.
Thank you! More faction armies are coming up in 2.6 with the addition of the Pennsylvania Reserve Corps for the Union and the Army of the Valley in 1864 for the Confederates. FIVE new maps are included as well along with some new Fog-of-War tweaks and other minor stat modifications.
Where is the /scripts directory?
See three user guide for detailed instructions. You may need to allow all folders to be seen in your windows settings, "show hidden folders". This may vary between windows 7 and 10. I run version 7.
I ve got right interface but everything is form normal Napoleon.
Please read the User Guide. This issue sounds like you did not install the "user.script" file in the proper location. If the interface buttons are all red, the script is missing.
So I followed all your install steps and did it all on a fresh install. However, when launching the game it launches into vanilla Napoleon and I don't understand why. The vanilla boot pack isn't in my game files, and all the ACW files are properly in the data folder.
It sounds like your user script is not in the proper location. Check that against the instructions, it does not go in the same /data directory.
i give up. i just cant get this on correctly. im noy sabby with computers
Simply follow the user guide. It is not a difficult process.
