Fixed the issue with dense fog. I left it in by accident, it's gone now.

Hi zerer, I just wanted to ask how can I open high quality maps in ae2 since I am not able to open maps from mods like Siberian Expeditions, JPHL, JPR as there always loads a black screen in ae2 when I try to pen them

Hey Zerer, this map looks incredible. If I had not already finished the mod that I worked on, I would definitely add it in and put all the creatures that you suggested. However, now that I think about it, this map would be perfect in my Carnivores+ MEE mod that I have worked on in the background. All of the creatures in this map are already in that C+ MEE mod, so I could go in and remove a map (potentially Shmu Hadron because it is unfinished) and replace it with this one and then move all the creatures to this map. I have been waiting for answers, and I have received some replies, so I might release the mod soon.

Oh, do you know how to change the menu picture? When I started working on this mod, I used C2+ as a base and thus it uses the C2+ menu pic. I would prefer to change it to the vanilla C2 menu, but I don't know how.

You need to pick all the vanilla C2 pictures you want and rename them to "AREA1", "AREA2" and so on. Then you paste them into the HUNTDAT/MENU/PICS folder, which will cause the C+ (I assume you wanted to write C+, since c2+ and vanilla c2 have the same menu) images to be replaced

Sorry, I wasn’t specific enough. I mean the very first start menu after logging in. Btw, have you checked out my mod Carnivores 2: The Canon Extended or Carnivores+: The Canon Extended?

Also is there anyway to reduce the crashes for MEE mods? Because that’s what’s causing the most problems for my mod.

You should copy the "MENUM", "MENUQ", "MENUS" and their related images from your desired mod/game and paste them into your mod. And i'm planning on checking out your mods soon.

As for the crash problem, check this link out. It's a fix that was discovered by JVirus. www.mediafire.com/file/xbhltgqkx7q7uye/Modders+Edition+crash+fix.zip/file

Thanks Zerer, I have used the crash fix on my the carnivores 2 mod and it worked! I will be releasing an update/patch of the mod with the crash fix and some minor changes.

Still trying to get it to work for my c+ mod.

Do you have any recommendations for software that I can use to animate models, create models, and/or new maps?

There isn't much room for reccomendations since carnivores has only 3 main modding tools (excluding model viewers): AltEditor2 for map making, Designer2 for model rigging and Animator7 for animating. The last two are sorta rendered obsolete due to a new Blender plug-in that allows you to make carnivores animations in there. You can also use blender to create models.

Youtube has tutorials for all of these. Grant Abitt's "low poly animal" Blender modelling tutorial helped me greatly, he also has an animating tutorial playlist titled "beginners guide to animation in 2.8". Look up the Cystisoma Magna channel for designer2 and animator7 tutorials and Ophious' channel for a part of the fabled alteditor2 tutorial.

Hey Zerer, you know how some skins are in the form of a 256x256 picture where it shows the individuals parts of the animal? Do you know how I could extract them and implement them onto the animals?

An example would be the Harpymimus from the Carnivores Download Database.

Use C3DIT

I've tried doing that, but for some reason either the skins don't register properly in game or the map that has a creature with said skin won't launch at all.

I feel like it has something to do with how it is converted to TGA or BMP. I've tried different converting sites and the outcome has been the same. Is there something I'm forgetting?

One thing I noticed is that when i put the skin on them for the first time they look fine, but when I save it as a car file and reload it, a bunch of purple bars appear on the skin.

Try opening the skin in MS paint and then saving it as .bmp

Also you gotta use the 1.5.1 version of C3dit

Zerer, I hope I am not being a pain for asking you so many questions. I promise this will be the last one. I am trying to implement a new menu pic for the halo pistol (because the uploader didn't provide one). I have finished the picture, but when i try to implement it into the mod it comes out all static-like and awful.

I have tried to find a tutorial for this but I cannot find one ANYWHERE. You are my last hope Zerer, how do I do it?

I have Paint Pro Shop 4.12, GIMP, & Microsoft Paint. I know it needs to be a TGA file. I noticed that the size of my image is 286KB whereas the size of the good, original images have a size of 146KB.
