This mod replaces original sounds with high quality ones based on actual sources. INSTALLATION GUIDE IS IN THE DESCRIPTION!
Raze:
1. Drag and drop ShadowWarriorHQSounds_VOC.zip onto Raze.exe and select Shadow Warrior as game.
Alternatively you may set either an absolute or relative path in raze_portable.ini to ShadowWarriorHQSounds_VOC.zip located e.g. in "autoload" folder, like this:
Absolute path:
- [ShadowWarrior.Autoload]
Path=C:\Games\Raze\autoload\ShadowWarriorHQSounds_VOC.zip
Relative path:
- [ShadowWarrior.Autoload]
Path=autoload\ShadowWarriorHQSounds_VOC.zip
2. In game go to Sound Options -> Advanced Options -> Turn on "Ignore file type for sound lookup".
3. Close and relaunch Raze to apply that change.
BuildGDX:
1. Drop ShadowWarriorHQSounds_VOC.zip into your "autoload" directory.
2. Make sure the autoload option in the launcher is checked.
VoidSW:
1. Put ShadowWarriorHQSounds_VOC.zip in Shadow Warrior game folder (not "autoload" directory).
2. Make a shortcut of voidsw.exe.
3. Right click on created shortcut and select Properties.
4. Add parameter "-gShadowWarriorHQSounds_VOC.zip" to the Target.
- Example: "C:\Games\Shadow Warrior\voidsw.exe" -gShadowWarriorHQSounds_VOC.zip
5. Launch VoidSW using created shortcut of it.
====KNOWN ISSUES=====
VoidSW and BuildGDX do not load sounds from "filter" subfolder like Raze does, that means custom sounds from addons will not be replaced.
This issue can be somewhat resolved by directly replacing sounds in GRP containers but after this change VoidSW might no longer detect GRPs as the checksum changes. To run the game VoidSW has to be run with command line "-gamegrp [file.grp]". BuildGDX shouldn't have any issues with that.

An absolute banger of a job Dzierzan as always! Thanks for all the effort you put into this and Duke Nukem 3D High Quality Sound Effects.
Could this be done for Blood too?
NaliSeed
Maybe one day for Raze port.
NaliSeed
I just released HQ sound pack for Blood :).
Is there any way that this can be used with VoidSW?
SadCack
As I clearly wrote, only Raze supports it. VoidSW guys didn't write support for loading external sounds for SW game.
Fantastic work you do with your soundpacks Dzierzan. The sounds are great, really been enjoying playing with them.
But i have found a problem. After they updated Raze a few days ago, from 1.7.1 to 1.8.1 the Shadow Warrior HD Sounds dont work anymore.
Duke Nukem 3D HD Sounds still work with no problems.

Thanks for the report, I confirm it doesn't work in ver 1.8.1. Let me issue a ticket to Raze devs.
Thanks for updating the mod!
A side note: the name of the file is "ShadowWarriorHQSounds44kHz.1.zip" not "ShadowWarriorHQSounds44kHz.zip", which becomes a problem when following the installation instructions. I just renamed the file on my end to reflect that, but it may not be so obvious to everyone.

Moddb adds such suffix whenever you update the download link and when the name of zip is exactly the same.
Yes, it was updated, added missing Master Lee sounds, updated some upscaled sounds and 4 extra sounds are based on actual sources now. But in general, nothing major.

Updated this pack again, apparently 44 kHz sounds are supported by vanilla SW game, which was a big suprise to me. Thus ports VoidSW and BuildGDX support this pack to some extend (limited support to addons, sadly).
VOCs are correctly loaded by Raze, so it can be used in the latest version.
EDIT: Or maybe vanilla DOS SW downsamples 44 kHz sounds to 22 kHz... I can't really tell the difference somehow. Might be also port dependent.
