The Old Realms is a fan made mod project for the game Mount & Blade: Bannerlord. This project is 100% unofficial and in no way endorsed by Games Workshop. We do not accept donations nor do we receive any financial gain from this project.
The mod is split into submodules, all of which can be found within the download folder from ModDB. Ensure your Bannerlord is on the current appropraite version for our mod. If you need to upgrade/downgrade your Bannerlord to the correct version, do the following:
Select Mount and Blade II via Steam, right click, “Properties” Ensure your Bannerlord is on the correct version 1.2.3 ( 1.2.0 beta ) 1.2.8 stable branch
Download and extract the zip archive into your Bannerlord Modules folder just as you would with any other mod.
OR - You can subscribe to our mod via the steam workshop: Steamcommunity.com
Please ensure you have Bannerlord Harmony version 2.2.2.162 installed as well. It is required. Nexusmods.com
(Important) If you have a previous version of our mod installed, you must: Completely remove all old module folders Delete your shader cache from C:\ProgramData\Mount and Blade II Bannerlord\Shaders (delete both TerrainShaders and CoreShaders folders) Note: Please be aware that ProgramData is a folder hidden by Windows by default. You have to adjust your Windows view settings to be able to see it
When launching the game, use the following load order:
- Harmony
- Taleworlds Modules
- Armory
- Environment
- Core
The Old Realms does not officially support any game changing mods other than Bannerlord Harmony (Which is required)
-Shader Cache loadtime disclaimer-
The very first time you load the game after downloading and enabling our mod will be slow. The game will appear to be stuck on the loading screen - this is normal. The game is compiling shaders in the background. Depending on your PC's specifications, this may take anywhere from 10 minutes to over an hour. Once you are in the main menu, it is highly recommended that you pick the option to "Build Shader Cache". This will also result in a long loading screen, but once you are done, your gameplay experience is going to be smooth. This step is not mandatory, but if you choose to not do it, your campaign will have many 5 minute loading screens when loading into battles until you have encountered all types of armies/parties with all of our custom assets present. Item thumbnails in the inventory, troops and characters in the encyclopedia may look like their textures have artifacts ("stripes"). This is a native rendering bug for the Bannerlord game and is not in our power to fix it. Please petition the game developer TaleWorlds to fix it sooner rather than later. This is a universal problem and affects all mods that have custom assets.

Is there installation instruction for dummies or something? Cant seem to get it work. Also, Harmony might not work, if downloaded from steam as there its not updated. Download from nexus.
Actually, as I clarified in their discord, You have to have Harmony version 2.2.2162 (DONT USE STEAM HARMONY). Just go to nexus and download there in the old section look for the correct version to use.

What button do I press to use the career ability?
Playing as a bretonnian knight currently and looked in the controls under the Old Realms key bindings and all I could find there was casting and special move, none of which seemed to trigger my knight ability.

I downloaded the mod and it won't work. I'm using Harmony 2.2.2.162 as you recommended and I keep getting this error when it loads "Cannot load..\..\Modules\Tor_Core\Win64_Shipping_Client\TOR_Core.dll". Any idea why this is happening. I'm using Steam, but I had to manually download your new mod version as it didn't automatically do so in Steam for this new version.
You need to unblock the dll file mentioned in the error at that location shown

Not to sound ungrateful, but how about some patch notes? There's nothing on the main page, nothing on this file page here, a super-basic list on Steam, and nothing in the guide linked there. It's a huge project with a lot of talent and a lot of depth, I'm afraid it needs more than "**** 'em, they'll figure it out." LOL
The steam one pretty much sums it all up, sorry you're unhappy with it.

so i unblocked the file and now the game just crashes during startup any solutions
So I believe I followed the instructions to a T
I re-installed this game today, deleted all except the native modules
re-installed Harmony v2.2.2.162 (as shown in launcher)
running on steam version v1.2.0
cleared out the folders under shaders in ProgramData
Have my load order matching,
but when I click to start in the launcher I get this message
"The Old Realms - Core (Knights and Saints update) depends on Bannerlord.Harmony(i-1.-1.-1.-1), current version is Bannerlord.Harmony(v2.2.2.162)"
As well that when I click confirm and launches, the game seems to freeze in the first loading screen of the mod.
Is this the application completing shaders and I should wait or am I doing something wrong?

Followed all instructions everything OK.
Started career with Moussilon and the first character to recruit in the tavern at Castle Moussilion, trying to talk with Cyril the fallen knight gives a shader error and gpu crash
Follow up on this, tried to visit the tavern it's the same error, but I can visit everywhere else, only the tavern at Castle Moussilion crash and shows the following error:

Followed through google and someone said it was an issue with the shaders, so I deleted both TerrainShaders and CoreShaders folders again and I will try again and update here
So I deleted both shader folders, load a new game, about 30 mins and loaded the cache, about an hour, still same error tried a different town, can't enter the tavern. AMD rx6600 drivers are updated.
Edit, I was able to go through discord that it's a known issue and unticking "tesselation" fixed it!
