This month in modding...
It has been a big month for mods and the site with November not only kicking off our first newsletter, but also the beginning of our 2006 Mod of the Year competition. The purpose of this newsletter is really to summarize the months events and cover all hot news, media, releases and features posted relating to mods. We have plenty more cool features like this planned for the future - so lets get started with newsletter #1!
The big news in November was the opening of Phase 1 Voting for Mod of the Year 2006. This year we've got top shelf prizes and video modcasts showcasing the best, mods have to offer. So be sure to browse the mod listing - and vote for your favorites!
November has also seen the release of Jussasic Rage (this months mod to watch) and Rock24 a fantastic single-player HL2 mod. Plenty of patches and updates were also released including Western Quake 3, Into Cerberon, HL2 COOP, Defense Alliance, Median, Infinity and Iron Grip. The upcoming holiday / festive season is always an exciting one, with plenty of mod teams announcing releases so expect to hear plenty more from us as everyone kicks into top gear!
Finally, for all the mod teams hoping to make it big - the team behind Natural Selection announced they are taking version 2 of their game commercial, and thus join an elusive crowd who have done this (Day of Defeat, Counter-Strike, Red Orchestra etc) - proving anything is possible, so keep on MODDING!
