This month in modding...
With only a handful of mods releasing in the month of August (compared to a jam-packed July), the time was right for us to announce the upcoming launch of Mod DB v4. In a week's time (barring any last minute issues), a closed beta shall be launched for current members to use and test for a month. We have worked hard over the past year, to bring you a site which looks great, and gives you (our community) the power to control and shape. Over the past 7 years we have seen the best mods are the ones which challenge conventional thinking and push games to their limits, thus this is what we have strived to do with v4 of the Mod DB.
 You won't recognize the new site at first – but once you dive in and get involved, we are certain you will like what you see and will soon be blaming us for lost productivity at work. Look out for news on Mod DB on the 3rd of September. Finally before we delve into this month's releases, I'd like to shout out to our current sponsors Tournament.com – who are as excited about v4 of the site as us.  Now to fill in the time until next week, we recommend you check out Merciless MatadoR for CoD2, which turns gritty world war fighting effects to the extreme. Or for something a little different, check out Back to the Future for GTA: San Andreas and cruise the streets in style riding in your own Delorean. For the HL2 single player fans, a number of campaigns came out for you to play through including Gateways, City Rebellion release 2 and AntiCitizen One. Finally one of the coolest racing games made has to be Flatout 2 and for those that play it a big*** community mod pack was just released, combining tons of great content made by heaps of different people. It is a massive download, but well worth it if you have clocked the game and are looking for more.
