“Lost Chambers of Giza” is a game project that revolves around exploring the cave system under the great pyramid of Giza. The game will consist of multiple levels, each set within a different chamber or section on the caves of the Great Pyramid. Players will progress through the game by solving the hieroglyph puzzles and overcoming obstacles and traps in order to reveal the pyramid's secrets.
We shared previously our intended UI flowchart for our game but today we are taking a better look at those elements separately.
At the end we will see the early development of our character in the thumbnailing phase.
This is some of the planned UI Screens, reminder that this is not final and just a representation.
Planned Level Selection Menu
The selection menu is important for our player to resume progress after coming back to the game.
Planned About Us Screen
Here is where we will let the player know us, the creators of the game, and provide him other information like our social media.
Planned Settings Screen
The Settings panel is self explanatory, for now we only plan in allowing the player to control the sound and music volume separately.
Regarding UI programming:
Our menu is still missing the buttons artwork but is technically working.
Main Menu currently
This is how the pause menu currently looks during the game.

Our programmer implemented sliders to control sound and music volume.

Artwise:
We already have some finished thumbnails for our character, the next step was to pick 2 and go to the next phase of sketching.
The two thumbnails we selected to keep working on:
Why?
We decided that the elements in the first character better represent our target audience, in the sense of his more courageous and determined traits, the light source he holds will be replaced by an lantern instead of a flashlight, in programming the light will be surrounding the character instead of going in front of him.
The second one has interesting body elements that our character would definitely wear as an explorer, he might need a hat and other touches that will be explored during the sketching phase.
