Is the Balrog in the fellowship campaign a single enemy, or is it still a pack of Balrogs? :D Either way, this is awesome.
The description says,it will be only one unit now..
Will it be bigger? .-.
A pack of Balrogs sounds incredibly funny :D
Well, there COULD be a pack of Balrogs, as they were many during the 1st Age. But just one appeared in the 3rd Age books so . . :(
Yup right armies of the buggers in the Silmarillion.
Technically there are still nine balrogs in the 3rd age since they fled during the war of wrath in 1st age and hid underground ever since.
HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT
maybe he read the books?
Its in the silmarillion. :)
wasn't it unknown as to how many are left?
There once were 9 balrogs , some were killed. It is unknown how many have escaped.
actually, it's believed that all the balrogs were killed, until the discovered durin's bane, in moria, so i don't think there's
any left, and if there ARE it won't be many!

Durin's Bane was the last Balrog, so that is correct.

I think there was 9. Apparently there were 8. They sort of were Morgoth's ringwraiths, if ringwraiths had massive flaming weaponry and were leading gigantic armies and were the size of houses....
balrogs werent actually that large. they were about 10 feet tall, so they were big enough but they were nowhere near the size of the films representation of them.
How the hell could elves beat those things?
they couldnt lol, only the strongest fought them, and died
where do you get 8 or 9 from? We have a few numbers on those killed during the fall of gondolin (book of lost tales 2 i believe) and thing i read somewhere that "none had fallen before" but only 8 or 9? c'mon, gota be more n that
Actully all of the balrogs exept the one in the first film died in the 1st age
Nope, read the silmarilion.
nope they were banned from earth with Morgoth
No, actually. Only Morgoth was banned, all his armies and servants were either destroyed or they fled and hid.
just the leader of them died i think his name was Gothmog and he got killed in battle by Ecthelion
And one killed by Glorfindel
Durin's bane is supposed to be the last balrog left
Especially when someone sends millions of troops against it and it just walks around trampling them
I guess they used arrows against balrogs.
HAND TO HAND - climbs up it and coup de grace iirc :P
lol
In Fellowship campaign is pack of Barlogs. In description says: "for the human player".
it's still a pack :(
I am playing with Eriador. I have eliminated Gundabad, and place a siege of Moria, which is only remaining stronghold of the Orcs of the Misty Mountains. Aragorn was in that army. BUT, Balrogs of Moria were ressurected, and, AS USUAL, with damned reinforcements, SLAUGHTERED my army, killing Aragorn. There were a PACK of 15 - 20 Balrogs!!! Can anyone beat any faction in this game??? Can I create Arnor now that Aragorn is dead?
It state that Aragorn must be alive to re-unite arnor. So no, you can't.
I played the game through with VH/VH Gondor without cheating, its not that hard.
I can hold my breath for 4 hours if I don't smoke for a week and one time I even found Atlantis in the deep end of my pool. Finding lost legendary/fictional civs may sound hard but it's not that hard.
yes yes, I see. How was it?
Brains?
wtf

Hey, use the cheats, auto_win attacker or defender, whether you are attacking or being attacked.

I believe the scientific term is a gaggle of balrogs
No, it is of course an "oh s###" of balrogs.
In the earlier versions of Tolkien's legendarium (concerning the First Age), there were more than 9 Valaraukar. Imo, they were closer to what he later called Boldogs - Maiar incarnated as Orcs. And even in LotR, there are vague mentions of spirits serving Sauron - see the passages pertaining to Gondor's army's marching on Morannon.
