Playable teaser of our campaign map. Clans from the base game transferred to the new campaign map.
Ohayo!
Despite having the tools to edit the campaign map, for some reason Shogun 2 never got a mod covering Europe and around. So, being a bit bored with conquering Japan over and over again, we decided to make our own custom campaign map for Shogun covering areas from western Europe to India. The map is prepared with the gunpowder era in mind, but could be adapted to other eras if desired.
However, since our main efforts in modding Shogun are focused on our fantasy mod (also featuring a custom campaign map - Last Alliance), we didn't have the occasion to make two such large mods at the same time. Instead, we decided to prepare the map itself, which will hopefully be used in other projects.
Although, the campaign map needs to be tested (and well... we wanted to play it right now xD) so we transferred the clans from the Sengoku campaign onto it, making a few minor changes. The map is not fully finished yet, but playable enough.
Could happen that I didn't sleep for a few days to implement this campaign map into the game, so if you like it, you can support me by a donation for tea or something >.<
Installation:
- Unpack (recommended use 7zip) and put in data folder of Shogun 2
- Run game and select the mod in mod manager
If you have any problems with installation check out Installation Guide for my Last Alliance mod (yeah, I'm too lazy to write separate Installation Guide for every mod >.<).
Features:
- New campaign map covering regions from western Europe to India (255 regions)
- Imported Matchlock Ashigaru are available to recruit in Castle (and they have shorter recruit time than in vanilla)
- Improvements in diplomacy and disabling realm divide
- Resources aren't needed for high tier buildings
To do list:
- Fix Crete, Balearic Islands and Gotland (for now enemy armies can't land on them)
- Add sea trade routes and visual land trade routes
- Add trade resources
Usage in other mods:
Because map isn't finished then RAW files aren't shared yet. But when the map will be fully ready I want to share this map for other modders.
This is THE mod that I've been wanting all these years! Europe, MENA and India in one map in the best Total War game ever made?! This is the best thing to happen to Shogun 2 and the Total War community in my opinion. Imagine the mods that can be built upon this mod! The best Bronze Age, Rome, Medieval, Pike & Shot, Colonial Era, Victorian Era or even WW1 TW conversion mods ever built can be built on this. Thanks for this Sara! You just paved the way for a new golden age of Total War mods!
Yeah, would be cool to see Ancient and Medieval eras on Shogun 2! This map would need some changes for this but that's not too hard to do if rest of map is done.
And I hope that ETW/NTW modders will be interested to do some modern era mods on Shogun 2 thanks to this map.
all of a sudden Shogun 2 modding looks better than empire modding lol fantastic work Sara
shogun2 is always better than Empire. Empire's engine is too ******.Only one problem is that shogun2 can't modify the map.And now it can
Huh, but campaign map of Shogun 2 always be moddable...
And beside it Shogun 2 is much better game than ETW and easier to modding in general.
shogun2 was released at 2011. Imagine that
mods like morning sun mod and total fots, they did modify the map, but just too bad
i place in the file data but it doesn't work
i can play now thanks for your concern
i can play through the steam edition that is really cool thanks for your hard work
hey I have installed it but cant play the campaign now!
Check out Installation Guide linked in description - I put there possible solutions of problems.

cant wait for the full release of this mod, thanks dev!
This is my most hyped TW:S2 mod
From what I saw, Santiago (which is Galicia, not Asturias) is in Spain, not Portugal! But anyway, lovely work done. Thank you very much for your effort!!
But... there's no neither Spain neither Portugal in Yari&Shot; campaign...
