Update October 29, 2023! Today I added levels from "Mission: Impossible - New Dawn" to my mod! If you downloaded version 1.2 before, make sure to download it again to play those amazingly detailed levels with hardcore difficulty. Huge thanks to Impossible Mod Force Team for that masterpiece!

Rather than making the difficulty like it was in MP1, this mod makes MP2 vastly more difficult. Just getting through the first level with the cleaners is practically impossible for me, whereas I just finished MP1 without much challenge. Is there a mod that more closely replicates MP1's difficulty?

You're right, there are few mods for max payne 2 that make the game more difficult. Try Lethal mod 1.1, it kinda inspired me to make my own mod Moddb.com

A very good mod. I recommend it to veterans who are looking for a challenge, because in my opinion the original version (vanilla) is too easy compared to the first Max Payne.

Not sure I see the point in this mod if you can't progress. How is Mona supposed to save Max (in the third Mona level after killing the sniper), if he gets killed immediately when the cleaners come out? Why is the cleaner guarding the door in the beginning of the last chapter doesn't get shoved away when Max bursts out? And fix the damn sawed-off shotgun! It's not a sniper rifle.

That part of Mona covering Max is a mess, I admit it. But it's the problem of the original game, since you can do nothing to protect Max in the first couple of seconds. Max has to take them out himself and he can in my mod, it's just random. Unfortunately, I can't change the number of enemies in the levels or make specific enemies on the level weaker. As I said, that part is random and it can be passed, you just need to try more and it would be good if Max has full hp. Oh, and one thing you can do is throw molotovs and hope some of them will damage the dudes.

Enemies are no longer stun locked by doors and jumps, it's in the changelog.

Sawed-off-shotgun is sure no sniper rifle, since it has bullet spread of 300 and sniper rifle has 5. I don't see what's the problem here.
