Immersion mod to extend the functionality, variety and depth of the Dynamic News system.

This is a re-creation of the dynamic news system used in MLR and Last Day, both mods use 5 separated scripts to add new collection of news.
This one completely overwrite and revamp the news system by relying on an improved CoC 1.5 script. it has been made compatible with all CoC variants as well.
- Fixed a case in vanilla script where stalkers are "watching screams" or "seeing noises".
- Fixed a case where stalkers reporting wrong faction info.

Vanilla news are about:
- Witnessing death of other stalkers (killed by mutants or stalkers)
- Hearing screams and shooting.
- Bought items from traders.
- Finding artifacts.
- Bounties.
- Wounded enemies.
This mod add news about:
- Obituaries (details about killed stalkers by mutants or other stalkers)
- Random/spam messages
- Factions news
- Factions activity in the zone
- Reports about dead stalkers.
- Expected date of upcoming surges.
- Loots from corpses.
- Weather.
- Time of day.
- Stolen stashes.
- Dumb zombies.
- Nearby enemy activities.
- Stalkers responses about surges, finding artifacts or death of their fellows.
- Companions chitchatting about all sort of things, whether its their own thoughts on factions, the maps they visit, or even the player himself.
- You have a complete control over what type of news you want to show up through your game, and the time cycle of those news right from this menu.
- To access it: load your game, then open the main menu and press Page-Up button.
- You can change the default button as well.

Fantastic, thank so much for doing this. I find the dynamic news adds so much "flavor" and feeling of life to the zone, I'd hate to play without it. A new and improved version can only be a good thing.

This happens when an npc stalker announces the artefact he found:
"A %s! I can finally retire."
After that message, the game will shortly CTD.
The mod that might be related to it was Lost To The Zone Artefact Expansion integration, but I could be wrong here. Also, the current version for CoC I had was 1.4.22. After applying this mod, I applied the compatibility patch for 1.4.22.
I will check that out and release a patch for it.

For everybody else: the mod will get extended in the future for more news and improved text. hopefully that's the "easier" part left.
Tested it and got no crashes so far, but I still get the "A %s! I can finally retire." message bug.
Ran into a similar crash with 1.5r6. Gonna test the fix myself. I have to say I love the addon so far though. It really adds some life to the zone. A nice touch for it losing connection during emissions and psy-storms.
Nice mod, I love this kind of mod that adds a lot of "personality" to the npcs around you. Didn't took the mod for a long gameplay but the feeling is excellent.
Here are some new ideas:
- Zombied stalkers once in a while typing some gibberish in the chat (something like "qiwfjnvmo-s \fmpvno´w v", the overal idea is that they are trying to use the chatpad and failing miserably) triggering a "nice and polite answer" of the other stalkers.
- Stalkers saying their stashes were robbed or their favorite guns being stolen, the kind of stuff that is used as "missions" in the game.
- Stalkers alerting the others about faction moviment ("I saw a group of Zombies heading towards Rookie Village, get out of there or be ready to fight." or "there is a group of Monolith soldiers camping at the Lake Watchtower, avoid it if you need."), the kind of stuff that makes the zone feels like a living place.
1 is easy
Not sure about 2, if it requires some sort of connection to tasks then it need some work.
3 is tricky, it requires alife interfering.
Nice ideas overall, i will consider them.
Tronex, 1.2 version is missing some key compatibility files.
You don't need the missing files, CoC 1.4.22 now will work with the main files only for example.
The main script has been edited to make it compatible by default.
Would you recommend this for people running a high-speed version of Warfare? 1.5 r6. I'd love this for immersion, but not if I'd get spammed constantly due to all the stuff happening, lol.
I have no idea about Warefare news, but you can easily control the time cycle of some news from this mod.
You can do this from (dynamic_news_manager.script) file, by changing increasing/decreasing the value in these 3 lines:

То есть, тайники закрепить за конкретным НПС и когда его тайник ограбят, он, сообщит об этом в сети и другие НПС - которые видели как игрок грабил тайник - сообщат об этом. И у игрока должна упасть репутация и НПС и его напарники, у которых игрок украл тайник, становятся игроку врагами. в 1.5+

Another idea is that players do not search the caches that are not marked on the map. The player, searching the cache in the presence of NPCs or when a helicopter is flying over it, is considered caught in the crime scene. and declared a criminal That is, the caches are fixed for a specific NPC and when its cache is robbed, it will report the robbery on the network and other NPCs or witnesses - who saw the player robbing a cache - will report it. That would be an awful lot of extra scripting and probably code required.

2.0 causes me lag every ~20 seconds and spams the same "Tronex call help" text in the console. I'm using on a modded CoC 1.4.22
I didn't have any problems with version 1.2
I forgot to turn console tracking off, i will fix it today.

I love this mod for that extra immersion. Especially when I can actually see it in action, watching (via binoculars) some Freedom dude get owned by a Chimera, and 10 seconds later I see his "obituary" show up on my PDA. :D
Then some other Freedom dude pipes up with "Aww damn, I always liked that guy" and I feel a bit sad for not saving his sorry ***. Oh well ... he knew the risks. :P
