This application allows for an easy launch of mods and management of large collections of mods for Warhammer 40K Dawn of War: Soulstorm™️ and Warhammer 40K Dawn of War: Dark Crusade™️.
This app supports Vanilla DoW, Winter Assault, Dark Crusade and Soulstorm!
This Tool will currently do:
- Check all installed playable Mods by their .modules and check for their Required Mods
- Display if prerequisite Mods are installed or not
- Allow you to directly start the desired mod, once validated that everything is installed, directly via the Mod Manager.
- Provide you with additional advanced start options such as skipping the intro movies, dev mode etc.
- Allow to directly start the unmodded Base Game (This will not undo LAA Patches)
- Immediately see if Soulstorm.exe and GraphicsConfig.exe is LAA patched or not.
- Allow you to activate and deactivate the LAA flag with the push of a button! No more NTCore or external tools to edit the LAA property are required.
- Merge Races mods together and greate large combiner mods quickly and easily. (Use at your own risk)
- No more problems with CTD's when installing new mods that require other mods to work which you were previously unaware of.
- Scan your game directoy for file changes and immediately update, without having to restart.
- Remember the options from your last session.
- Auto update to latest version should we push a new update.
- Allow you to easily find and install missing mods.
- Remove Map ambient fog easily via a checkbox. (Soulstorm Only)
INSTALLATION:
Drop the Executable file and the into the same directory where the Soulstorm.exe or DarkCrusade.exe is located (..\Steam\steamapps\common\Dawn of War Soulstorm\) be sure that you didn't rename the game .exe in the first place.
It'd cause desyncs in Multiplayer anyway (Renaming the Soulstorm.exe not using this tool)
Then create a shortcut of the executable on your desktop for easy access.
DEINSTALLATION:
Simply remove the executable since they don't override anything.
PROTIP:
The tool will currently only manage the current folder it was dropped in. If you have multiple soulstorm installations drop the manager in EACH of them. For better access make a shortcut
to the .exe on your desktop to quickly access and start your game with any Mod you desire instantly.
This tool was created by FragJacker and IgorTheLight

Please note:this is the most recent and stable version of the Mod Launcher available on Modb.
Any other version is now officially outdated.
So,makes sure to update if you haven't already! :)
what exactly has changed?
when i try to open folder it says unhandled exeption has occured in your application. What do i do?
frag makes our life easy ....excellent tool a must have to dow mods
keeps crashing AN ERROR WHEN I CLOSE THE MANAGER.WONT ALLOW QUIT. is there a updated folder to download? mines the 1.52 folder
mine 2.1.3 and works fine.
Delete the very old 1.52 folder please. You are doing a new installation pretty much.
And you won't have to do that again, since the auto-update feature is introduced in this version.
BIG THX!!!
Thx for the tool ! :)
When I want to close the mod Manager I get an error "Unhandled exception in the application".
How can I solve that?
Check if you can find the "DoW Mod Manager.ini" file and delete it. It could be that you still have an outdated .ini file which causes the app to crash when exiting. The app will create a fresh one on the next start/exit.

Try Run as Admin.
I'm getting an error whenever I load. "The request has been aborted: Could not create SSL/TLS secure channel." Also happens if I click on "Download Mod...". It works just fine otherwise though. No crashes or other issues running mods.
You are using Windows 7 I presume?
I may check that problem soon.
Yeah, I still use Windows 7 on this machine. Thanks! If you need any more info from me, just let me know.
Try to install the latest .NET Framework 4.8 - it may solve the problem: Dotnet.microsoft.com
I fixed your problem!
This fix will be included in DoW Mod Manager 2.1.6
If you want to get it earlier - you may download this beta build: Mediafire.com Mod Manager.exe
Just rename it to "DoW Mod Manager v2.1.6.exe"
That did the trick! Thanks dude! I forgot to mention it here but I did try installing .NET Framework 4.8, both the normal and Dev Kit versions, but that didn't work. This new version does though.
Glad to hear that!
Also - the official 2.1.6 is out! Go to bottom right corner and click "About and Updates" and then "Visit home page". Your Beta version WILL NOT update itself to the release version because they both have the same version number.
Different question, I've done all the things that you guys do and the mod won't start fsr...
Please provide additional info:
* Your OS and architecture (Intel/AMD x32 or x64)
* Your .NET Framework version
* Is your DoW from Steam or maybe from CD
* Is there any error message. Please write it down
A few possible problems (and solutions):
* Your .NET Framework version is < 4.8 (Windows XP doesn't support version > 4.0)
* DoW Mod Manager conflicts with the older version - delete ANYTHING that have "DoW Mod Manager" in it's name and download the latest version.
* Maybe your Account have low privileges - start DoW Mod Manager as an Administrator.
* Maybe your .NET Framework is damaged - reinstall it (and also check your HDD/SSD for errors (using command "chkdsk C: /f /r /x" without quotes) + some antivirus check)
* Maybe you are not even running Windows - set up your WINE so it has .NET Framework 4.8 installed ;-)
хуйня не работает
Хотелось бы получить более подробную информацию о проблеме вместо "хуйня не работает ёпта!"
Because Winter Assault gets installed to the same folder as DoW, the mod manager always recognizes this folder as Winter Assault, and doesn't give me any option to start normal DoW. I have to remove the Winter Assault exe from the folder, in order to start normal DoW from the manager.
True. This issue is hard to get around in more elegant way. If I would add a new button just to start a vanilla DoW - it will be useless in any other situations and will just take place :-)
I have an odd question: do someone still uses Windows XP to play Dawn of War?
I could make a special WinXP build of DoW Mod Manager but it will be very rarely updated.
Still much better than nothing
Hi, When I use the EXE, I get the following: Neither found the Soulstorm, Dark Crusade, Winter Assult nor original in this directory!
I have the mod manager and game on D:/ and Windows on C:/. How can I help it find the game?
I fixed the issue, by moving the executable to the Soulstorm folder
Можете пожалуйста подсказать как удалить мод из менеджера?
Такой возможности пока нет - просто удалите все файлы с именем мода вручную.
Обычно это один *.module файл и одна-две папки с именем мода.
Пример:
Папка "UltimateApocalypse_THB" + файл UltimateApocalypse_THB.module
hey whenever I try to toggle LAA, a message pops up telling me "Access to the path "C\Program Files(x86)\THQ\Dawn of War - Soulstorm\Soulstorm.exe" is denied."
Windows is very paranoid if someone is trying to change something in system folders. Program Files is one of them. So I could suggest a few solutions:
* Start DoW Mod Manager as an Administrator (to elevate it's privileges so it could modify system folders)
OR
* Reinstall Dawn of War in a non-system folder. Install it in "C:\Games\Dawn of War" for example

keeps telling me soulstorm isnt there even do its right there
Program searching for "Soulstorm.exe" in the same folder as DoW Mod Manager itself.
Make sure that it's named correctly and DoW Mod Manager is in the same folder.

When i try to toggle laa i get a "unhandled exception has occurred" i'm on windows 7 if someone knows something thanks
I've just tested it on Windows 7 - it's working.
What I could suggest:
* Update DoW Mod Manager to 2.1.6 manually using this link: Github.com
* Start DoW Mod Manager as an Administrator. You could change that in Properties for it to start As Admin automatically.
Already did both didnt get me anywhere, the game seems to be working good without it but it's still a bit annoying.
thanks for your time.
You could manually swicth LAA:
* Download 4 Gb Patcher from here - Ntcore.com
* Unzip it in any folder then start it
* Patch Soulstorm.exe and then GraphicsConfig.exe
* If that tool also couldn't do anything - reinstall Soulstorm in another folder like "C:\Games\"
It worked thanks man you saved me some mental health. ;)
Nice :-)
Hello,
I'm having a problem with the Unification mod successfully loading using the DoW Mod Manager.
Note: I'm really new to using mods in DoW, in fact, the Unification mod and then the DoW Mod Manager to install it last week were my first intro to using mods.
I installed Unification last week using DoW Mod Manager v2.1.5. It worked great until today when DoW Mod Manager v2.1.6 came out and I got the notification to download and install it. Basically, today:
1) I installed the new version of the Mod Manager
2) Pressed the "START MOD" button in the Mod Manager
3) The Unification loading screen came up as usual
4) The Unification mod doesn't appear to have actually loaded, as indicated by:
- The main DoW Soulstorm page shows the vanilla version
- Only the original 8 races are available in skirmish
I don't know if I'm doing something wrong here. Please help!
That's strange...
Because 2.1.6 doesn't change anything related to mod loading. Here is a full changelog for 2.1.6:
* Fixed a problem with a secure TLS/SSL connection on Windows 7 when checking for an update or downloading ModList
* Added a new checkbox in the Settings->Video tab to allow the user to easily set the usage of the DirectX 8 cursor (aka. -allowhwcursor). Setting this to zero can help with flickering cursor issues.
* Added a new tooltip to explain what this option does.
* Rearranged several UI elements in the main Mod Manager form into panels to allow for better scaling of the buttons etc.
* Refactored code a little bit so it's more human-friendly
Maybe try to select another mod and then select Unification again (and then press START MOD)
Hey, thank you for your reply!
Interesting. Well I did just end up reinstalling soulstorm and everything seems to work fine now. I didn't think of trying to select another mod and then selecting Unification again. If the issue comes up again in the future I will try that and chime back in.
Cheers!
Good :-)
