For me the game won't even launch, a lot of people have trouble with the game crashing on them, this makes Anomaly literally unplayable. Devs should really fix this problem ASAP. It's a shame that such a nice game can't be played for a lot of people.

It crashes quite often in warfare, but Im able to play story mode for days...

I guess your game is modded?
What does the error log in the game directory tell you (appdata\logs)? Open the .log file and copy the last ~20 lines where the error message is.

A lot of ppl have shitty PCs or just morons sooo...

I have a shitty PC and my Anomaly runs just fine, even when modded with heavy addons such as BaS, HD models or 4K weapon textures (this one got deleted sadly)

You probably either have outdated drivers or you did something wrong when installing addons.

that, or maybe you have less than 4gb RAM? if your problem is not drivers or mods, then you could try decreasing the Switch_distance.

After first install and launch, the game crashed 6 times (within a 15 -20 minute period of time). Specified Dx10, and tried clear shader cache through launch menu, results inconclusive at this time (would have to test with grass on).

What made biggest difference with greatly reducing frequency of crashes: removing/reducing all grass parameters in the ingame options menu.

Game rarely crashes and i have a potato, anomaly uses all my memory, and i have like 90 mods, but i heard the engine has problems with AMD hardware.

One thing that helped the stability of my game a lot was using Stalker Optimizer. I think it was in one discussion in this forum, although I can't find it any more. It performs a memory purge, by default, every minute.

vanilla anomaly not just broken tehnically but also every aspect of gameplay doomed to hell - shit weapon pack with tonn on akms and useless skins , way to much trash that you cant use cz repair system is also broken and crafting too , literaly dead alife , wothless stashesh with mostly garbage in em , way to much trash artefacts and questionable weight , kg converted to grams for some reason , you can play in this trash only with bunch of addons installed to fix all of that bs

I've been playing 1.5.1 on Linux for maybe ~200 hours now and it hasn't crashed for me once, warfare or otherwise. And I'm now up to 54 mods total in my custom modpack.

On 1.5 beta it used to crash all the time. This version has just been rock solid for me so far.

No shader mods however, just regular DX11 because reshades don't work on Linux.

My system is an i7 4770K and GTX970, so almost potato-level at this point. It's watercooled though, so maybe yours is just overheating? Or failing harddrives (use redundancy and a proper FS), or failing RAM... what it is is anyone's guess, but I don't think it's the game itself.

I have a pretty high end brand new PC that's rock stable with over a dozen of other games. But sadly Anomaly crashes a lot (vanilla, no add-ons). I have close to a dozen mdmp files just playing for a week. And when it doesn't crash - it has to be restarted frequently for things like NPC followers getting stuck in places, stuff and corpses clipping/falling through the ground, artifacts that can't be obtained because they spawn in unreachable sports, quests not updating, doors not opening. That all being said, it's still a fun game, thank you Anomaly team on your work on it.

You get a free game that is actually a good experience with lots of customization, what more do you expect?

And you can see in the poll that the game doesn't crash for the majority of people.

The glitches are annoying yes, but is more the good stuff you get than any of the bad IMO.

I got a crash when opening details on light repair kit. Never happened before.

The title should be "This game is unplayable for so many people who..."

Then the poll should be:

1. Don't follow the installation instructions.
2. Max out the graphics settings and expect it to play like a AAA game.
3. Use a load of mods, but don't read their descriptions or comments.
4. Have little knowledge of their own system and have spent most of their gaming life on Steam.

The OP doesn't give any information other than it doesn't launch, so I'm putting them into one of these categories.

To respond to this wanker troll:

1. Followed instructions just fine, not everyone is as dumb as you.
2. Graphics settings are set to what the game itself allows them to be set. The game is expected to be able to handle settings it itself provides, genius.
3. Hardly "loads", more like a handful. But test runs with just vanila yield same results.
4. Don't make dumbass assumptions that you have not a slightest f***ing idea about. It just makes you sound like a c*nt.

Mine just locks up very often which forces me to close the game. Like, I can't do anything besides moving and jumping

Bro, my PC is horribly obsolete, yet, i can play the game just fine on DX8, still, if you try to install really heavy mods like HDModels and B&S you sure gonna get a hell of a lag and unstability, say it by expiriences. Also, if someone knows how to increase my FPS, please tell me.

Fairly new PC, playing story mode on very high graphics with only a small number of quality-of-life add-ons. My game tends to crash only once every 8-10 hours or so. Half of those crashes are because of AMD driver issues. When it is a game engine crash, it's mostly an empty error log, though.

This reminds me of the time I release a 500mb doom 2 wad on the Doomworld forum (largest map ever for Doom 2) and the forum complained that they couldn't run it at a reasonable FPS.

I suggested that their computers were crap, showed a video of me running it perfectly, and I got banned by the mods.

Cheap asses trying to play games on their casio calculators need to get a life. Anomaly runs beautifully.

I got a pretty old machine too, but surprisingly for me DX9 works a lot better / smoother. On a Linux system though, so perhaps that's the reason. It crashes sometimes after loading a new map with an adapter memory error message, but that's probably a problem with WINE (guess I need to specify video memory size), not the game itself.

i did 2 playthroughs on 1.5.2, game never crashed even once, and i have 82 mods.
