Sitnalta is a midquel to TOC and TOC's upcoming sequel (LotM = Legacy of the mage). As in it takes place between TOC and its sequel. To put it right into the timeline of TOC and LotM, it takes place around the same time as the events of TOC.
The story goes like this: A few years after Morcalavins plague that ravaged Parthoris was put to an end, Parthoris was once again under siege by a new threat. This new threat was caused when the half-demon mage Zakachi Daemonbourne opened up a world ripple into Parthoris and sent most of his horde into Parthoris. Although his horde of demons, undead and worse were quickly dispatched by the armies of Parthoris. This caused Zakachi to flee from the battle and into the world ripple he had opened. Corvus, who was on the battlefield at the time, saw Zakachi escape and decided to chase after him, in hopes of killing him, to make sure Zakachi and his hordes would never attempt to invade Parthoris again.
Of course, doing this meant Corvus might get stuck in a completely unknown and different world. Which is exactly what he did, Corvus found himself within the underwater city of Sitnalta, in the world of Vardorzal. Prior to Corvus's arrival, a Nalderaz (aka Thunder Dragon) greeted him and furthermore told him that Zakachi had made the Llithran captial city of Sitnalta his own, and to kill Zakachi he would have to reach the Grand Palace.
The Nalderaz opened up another world ripple to the Sitnalta Shrine (One of the places close to the Grand Palace) for Corvus, so he could begin his quest. The Nalderaz also told Corvus to go see the Llithran council and tell them its safe to return after Zakachi is dealt with. Corvus agreed to this and stepped through the portal.
And thus starts Corvus's adventure within Sitnalta!
That'll do it for the story writing.
Now for the credits.
