HISTORY

After the bitter man defeated the makron at the moon base he landed near a heavily fortified strogg military base.
There he learned that the Strogg had built a new makron. Now your mission is to
destroy the new one and avenge your fallen comrades without any help.

KNOWN BUGS
----------
1) In the vehicle levels you have to be careful not to run into a wall while the vehicle is moving
forward because you could die as it is difficult to control the exact movement of the path_corner
in the editor. To avoid that, just don't touch the walls where the vehicle passes.
2) If you do not apply patch 3.24 you may encounter the following map errors (only vanilla)
. msg overflowed for player
. error: index overflow
3) KmQuake2 has the particularity that the entities known as boss2 and supertank do not explode,
so if one of those entities gets stuck in the vehicles it will be stuck and you will not be able to
move forward from there, the possible solution is to shoot until they destroy those monsters so that the vehicle can continue.
You can apply this patch for KmQuake 2 users and fix this: Moddb.com This does not happen in the vanilla version of Quake 2.
If the vanilla version has the error that you can't save the game and tells you that readlevel error functions pointers have moved apply this patch: Moddb.com

Are there plans to update this for the 2023 remastered version? Since it introduces the missionpack stuff such as new enemies and weapons/items.
Also can't get past Waste Processing. Every time I step onto the lasers I get fragged.
There will be no more updates, I played the entire mission pack without any problems with the remastered version. Maybe you are passing through the wrong area. I recommend that you play this with quake2xp, it looks much better than the remastered version.
As said above, needs more detail/landmarks. Otherwise good potential, keep it up!
Seriously wasted potential of a mod. Just re-creating the layout of the Quake 4 levels is completely missing the point of what made Quake 4 or Quake 2 levels good.
Thank you for the effort! That was a very good idea for a mod.
However, the game severely lacks details. One of Quake 4 strong sides was its great level design, with plenty of interesting details. What we have here is just a bunch of mostly empty square rooms and equally empty corridors, all well lit, and... empty! Just mimicking general levels layout is not enough! The original Quake 2 also had interesting level geometry, lots of areas to explore, and hidden places, and a good level of detail (for the time). Unfortunately, none of these are present in this mod. So running through a suite of rooms with no interesting tasks and fights becomes boring right form the start.

Any chance of porting this to yamagi?
Download the vanilla version is compatible with yamagi. Copy all the maps of the gamepack quake4/maps to baseq2/maps. Write in the console "map airdefense1" to start.
