Just so I don't get called "unconstructive".
HL2 is an autumnal FPS with a touch of painterly stylisation but otherwise realistic graphics.
d1 town 05 is one of the peak showcasing levels in the game for its style and atmosphere.
Your ground texture looks very unappealing and unnatural (looks like caked mud with very bright grass stomped into it?), it doesn't feel like HL2's September/October morning with the new lighting, the props feel random (like they do in most other pictures).
This is an entrance to an abandoned mine, why is it surrounded by random furniture and fertiliser? Do they need to be there, or are they just clutter for sake of clutter?
The lighting is coming from directly overhead in full force instead of being 6 in the morning like the original. Again, why? It blows out the front of the scene (filled with prop puke and unappealing ground) instead of drawing the player toward their goal.
The things you got most right are the traincars.
To be clear, I don't expect you to change a single thing. I said it looks like vomit and then I explained why.
I think you should've started with why you didn't like it first.
