Interesting take on The Shores of Hell! I like the use of Chasm and Quake textures and the beefier weapon sound design. I have only played E1M1 so far, but this feels like a completely different game.
Speaking of E1M1, is there a way to backtrack to earlier areas? On my first playthrough, I have failed to find a single secret.
On the nitpicking side, I find the font to be a little too dark, making it hard to read text against a black background.
I was also going to praise you for removing hitscan enemies (i.e. the basic enemy shooting single plasma balls) and recolouring enemy blood to match their sprites (i.e. the Hell Knight), but then I noticed you kept the Chaingunners and the Shotgunners and I see the recoloured Cacodemon still get covered in blue blood when dead. Nice, I'm glad you enjoyed it. You should be able to get 100% secrets and kills in any map at any point. The exception is MAP08 - once you step into the boss arena, you won't be able to return to earlier areas. About MAP01, once you enter the exit "chamber", the teleporter you used to enter this room will be accessible again, allowing you to return.
