Full Version 2 commentsThe first public release for Shogo: Stainless Steel, now updated to version 1.2.1. Also includes the "no critical hits" version.
Stainless Steel seeks to address Shogo's biggest gameplay flaws for a more entertaining experience.
Here's the rundown on what's been changed:
-Enemies now actually have reaction times, which should result in less cheap deaths on foot. (Taken from the abandoned Aegis mod, credits to AdrenalinCDA)
-The amount of damage inflicted by enemies on Normal difficulty has been slightly decreased.
-Reloading was removed entirely, due to the inability to manually reload and a lack of visual indication of your remaining shots.
-Critical hits now only deal two times the damage instead of four times, so that you won't be instantly killed if you were to be hit by one.
-The TOW's rockets have been made a little slower.

+1 on requesting a version with crits removed or just set to do 1.00001x damage or something. Also this is being a bit nitpicky but could there be a version with reloading still in the game? Its a feature a lot of people love for such an early fps.

Can you release a version where critical hits are removed altogether? It's easily the dumbest mechanic in Shogo.

I will point out that even crappy reloading is better than no reloading. Said lesson was learnt the hard way from blood2, removing a timing element from the game hurts the gameplay, especially in an ego shooter.
