4 mission Fan made Russian Campaign for the Command and Conquer Rise of the Reds 1.87.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS CAMPAIGN WILL ONLY WORK WITH ROTR 1.87, NOT 1.86. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO COMPLETE ALL MISSIONS ON 1.86 DUE TO THE CHANGES BETWEEN THE TWO VERSIONS.
To install 1.87, you must first become a member of SWR Productions, simply go to:
Forums.swr-productions.com?
and register in order to download and play this campaign. Instructions on how to download 1.87 will be in the '1.87 Public Build Testing'. You don't have to be an active member, and it doesn't cost anything. Just use your membership to download if you wish.
This campaign follows the story of General Orlov. He is a reluctant hero of Russia for his service against the ECA. He soon finds that his enemies are far closer to home than he thinks, and must save Mother Russia from a plot that could destroy the entire country. You are a relatively unknown commander in his service, rising through the ranks only to fall into this game of treachery and lust for power. Join with Orlov, and combat an unstable general for the future of the motherland over four missions to an explosive and nostalgic climax.
Good luck commander.
In the zip file you will find all four missions files. You must place these files in:
Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour Data>Maps
in order for them to work. Once you are in game, go to skirmish, unofficial maps and you will find them there.
There is also a readme file containing the briefings and hints for all four missions. I recommend reading them before playing.
Thank you for playing this campaign.
does any of missions involve russians fighting foreign enemies and not own people?(screen and "treachery" words make me presume missions are about civil war)
It's half and half, the second and third mission involves one of the other factions (I won't spoil which one). It's not like the Red Alert series where the Russians are seen as "the bad guys" who always fight each other for power, in fact, it's quite the opposite. If you look up the Russian Generals in the ROTR Wiki, you'll see which personalities heavily influenced the campaign.
I get it but still mirror matches never been as fun as one fraction against another. I think you could make russian good guys in other way but still one of the best missions for ROTR out there. Hope i see more but fighting against terrorist forces or "bad" yankees :D
Personally I've always loved mirror matches in C&C. With the personalities of Orlov and Aleksandr, it would have been weird for them not to fight at some point. I did try to make some difference between the two, e.g. Aleksandr has Tesla tech and Shock Troopers while Orlov has air power and the VDV. If 2.0 comes out and both generals have unique units, this campaign will definitely be updated.
Pretty good missions. Mission 4 gave me some damn nostalgia. Kudos to you.
Gotta love some Red Revolution every now and then! Thanks for playing.
People, I can't acess the SWR forum's site, besides that, where I can download the 1,87 version?
Why can't you access the forums?
It is the only way to get the internal beta
Techjourney.net
Loving the last mission, even after getting bombarded with the TREMOR AGAS multiple times. Now that was epic. Those Golem Tanks are nasty though.
They certainly are, more than a match for Sentinels me thinks.
Can't do a third mission - capturing the Chemical Lab seems impossible because I don't have such an upgrade for my troops.
I commented this on Youtube, it looks like you're still using 1.86 from the videos. 1.87 automatically gives basic troops and VDV gunners the ability to capture buildings.
You were right, fixed :)
Glad to help, I love the videos as well. Can't wait til you do the final mission!
I will try to record this later
there some problem with mission 1
after every outpost destroyed
mission doesn't end
You use 1.87 patch? Worked in my end.
Yup 1.87
Did you get "Outpost _ Destroyed" for each of the 4?
Yeah i got all of them
I destroyed them like this
Outpost 1
Outpost 3
Outpost 2
Outpost 4
Strange, I think this is a very rare occurrence. Try replaying the mission again as it might be a one off.
Frank Jaeger appears if you go by the abandoned Field Command. I've never come across this when I play tested the 1.86 original mission or the updated 1.87 one, so I don't have an answer to why it happens sorry.
I will try to replay this mission
Later
Dude are you planning to add more missions? Eca lacks this kind of map although yeah russians could get more.
Funnily enough I'm creating a GLA campaign which is about 95% done, which I'm hoping will be released sometime this week. I have an ECA campaign planned which I will start in early 2018. If you're interested, on the Rise of the Reds Forum, in Custom Maps I have a few one-off missions uploaded to play. I recommend "Pandora's Lock" if you are looking for some ECA action.
I've tried pandora lock. After they fired the solar relay thingy the russian ai just stopped attacking and just turtles in their base. Still a good mission though.
Yeah that's because they attacked with everything they had seeing as they try to steamroll you.
for who is lost for The 1.87(Beta)
you find here : Forums.swr-productions.com
make an account(is free , just say hy and is fine)
and enjoy the bta cool unit like the blackbear or the golem with the coil upgrate is epic(if you like railgun c&c3; stile)
Is it just me or last mission always crashes in the final stage? It's a darn shame, it always happens when I finally got an edge to overwhelm the enemy, destroying the second superweapon and a sizeable portion of the topmost base, starting final incursions onto the HQ. Should I just skip it all and spam units onto the HQ instead of wrecking the production if I want to finish the mission?
Also really enjoyed the fact the mission in entirety is a huge callback to that Red Alert 2 Soviet mission.
Yeah it sometimes happened to me in testing to. I think it's down to there being so many units, structures and walls by the Kremlin, but I'm not sure. Attacking it with a nuke or large force of your own is a bit dicey. I had to pick between removing the walls and making it less like the original or keeping them in and risk the chance of crashing.
Sorry to hear about your problem and I would suggest just going straight for the Kremlin to lower the risk of it crashing again, I'll try to figure out a solution if I decide yo update the campaigns.
Hey, this addon is designed for version 1.87, and, in fact, where can I download it? Is he in the public domain?
Why are the missions for this faction a bit too hard? I Mean both Zhukov, Alexander, and Orlov felt like fighting against brutal enemies in less than 4mins.
Is this intentional?
