Survival game mode is now available for kaboom watching!
Extract all files to your Homeworld2\Data folder (with WinRAR 5.0 or higher version) and read the PDF manual for installation.
Main changes from 4.0:
New Survival game mode -- in this game mode, waves of ships will spawn from one player and attack all other players. All you need to do is to survive. While the idea is not new, this is the most sophisticated implementation ever existed in Homeworld history. The options are extremely detailed and customizable, down to every key parameter directly linked to the source code, so you can feel free to define your own game and beat it (or more likely get rekt by it becase the difficulty ranges anywhere from rage quit to uninstall)!
Improved AI -- when AI players have lost all production ships, they will still try to search for crates in order to get an epic comeback. This is particularly useful in Survival mode, as your allied AI players will resist to go die easily.
New fx -- many ship death fx have been enriched, meaning lots of spectacular kabooms in Survival mode!
Stronger Endgame Crisis -- this is to match the difficulty of the new Survival mode.
The timer for Endgame Crisis is now customizable in the skirmish options in response to some players' requests. If you really want to know when Endgame Crisis will happen so you can better prepare for it, there's a cheat -- just open Hw2.log and it will tell you when it's going to start (you need to include " -luatrace" in the shortcut's target line first).
Due to the max limit of 32 skirmish options, one skirmish option has to be removed. The recruiting speed option was removed because it was only related to Hiigaran players. As a compensation, Hiigaran players now have additional research options for increasing the recruiting speed.

Easter Eggs planted!
Hello, Siliconworm!
Thank you for your work. Simplex replaced original Homeworld 2 for me, can't imagine playing vanilla without having opportunity to sit around for 5 hours in simplex, in one match, of course.
И правда, похоже, что есть связь между теми, кто играет в старые игры, и наличием у них аутизма. В положительном смысле конечно, если брать в расчёт синдром Аспергера или высокофункциональный аутизм, ибо этот мод заставляет думать.
