Valve integrated new shaders in the Orange Box Engine,
I discovered these and tried to make it work in dod source.
SSBump is a shader, I will present it later,
now, let's talk about Ambient Occlusion Mapping.
It consists of light attenuation depending on surroundings configuration, therefore it is useful on bumpy materials, such as rocks, cobble, etc...
Here is my first try :
- texture by Fakefactory
- bumpmap, envmap, occlusion map by djibe89

I hope you can see the difference ;-). What do you think ?
See ya
Wow looks amazing! Quite a huge difference.
Love it, looks really good. I wish valve would use better textures sometimes.
totally agree, its at "very high" now, hope they add an "ultra high" with parallax and such to source :)
I'm not sure if this still works, or ever did work, in DoD:S, but there used to be a command for TF2 called mat_picmip -10, this would leave the textures uncompressed (or compressed very little) and thus less blurry than the normal game. Sadly it was unceremoniously removed in the last major update for TF2. (Very High is mat_picmip -1)
those shaders aren't new, but anyway, looks good
****, that looks insane! :D
I can taste the difference.
**** that's good!
He's right, it's just a texture change with shading. Still looks good though.
This mod looks awesome! You deserve my download for this. :P
I can see Homer Simpson in the wall.
Where?
how do i install it?
i install in the right place but nothing change
