RTX Remix conf file for Star Wars: Republic Commando, NVIDIA's modding platform.
RTX Remix is an NVIDIA modding platform that allows the injection of pathtracing and PBR assets into classic PC games.
Star Wars Republic Commando's status as of posting is partially playable.
Expect relatively minor visual errors related to occlusion culling. Not all levels have had their lightmaps appropriately tagged, but other than that this .conf should be stable enough to play through most of the game. This is still a WIP. This contains no new assets, only the starting configuration to use alongside Remix when installing it to Republic Commando.
INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS:
The order of steps to get Remix working seems to matter quite a bit. Here's a consistent method:
1. Run the unmodded game normally, should run in DX8 mode as intended
2. Set your graphics settings to the lowest across the board, except textures and model detail which should be left at max
3. Close the game. Now install Crosire's d3d8to9 wrapper (https://github.com/crosire/d3d8to9/releases/)and the latest RTX remix release at the same time inside the same folder as the game executable -> \Star Wars Republic Commando\GameData\System
4. Place the attached rtx.conf file in the game executable folder with everything else
5. Launch the game to ensure RTX Remix hooks. If you see the *Press Alt+X to open Remix menu* popup and can get to the main menu, you're good to continue to the next step
6. Close the game and install the Republic Commando Fix mod (https://github.com/SWRC-Modding/CT/releases/). Double check the install instructions so it's in the right place.
7. Run the game from the CT.exe executable. Once you're at the main menu, go to your graphics settings and turn bump mapping back to Low, as Republic Commando Fix changes it on first run. You should now be able to set your native resolution as well.

Done!
Does this also work with the SWRC Remaster (v1.7)?
Unfortunately not. The RTX Remix project is extremely WIP. Noted your interest in using SWRC Remastered + Remix though! (I'm the one currently working on the RTX project)
