Rise of the Reds – or ROTR for short – improves upon the C&C Generals formula while also adding its own distinct elements to it. Most notably, the mod adds two completely new factions, the tank-heavy Russian Federation and the defence-oriented European Continental Alliance. In addition, the three original factions China, USA and GLA have been greatly expanded and redesigned in a variety of ways, with several new units, buildings, powers and abilities to explore and combine in your in-game tactics.

Based on Generals 2's one?
It was inspired by the Trident from the cancelled "Gens 2" game, yes. Some of the designs in that game weren't even all that bad after all.
If I'm not mistaken the Recycler is based on the nuke truck that's also from Generals 2.
Picking up EA's slack with the mod, that's dedication!
Wait based on Gen2 unit? That's themathically fitting choice giving it to Ukraine given the Tryzub coat of arms literally translating to trident.
We have a few Ukrainian people on our team.
We had a whole discussion on what to name it initially but the generals 2 vehicle was already called the Trident so the name stuck :)
