Hey everyone, just wanted to officially make a page. I have been working on an RTX Remix/Remaster of Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines, and I think it's time to put something out officially.
This project is meant to be an asset by asset remaster of VTM:B using the RTX Remix toolset. Meaning, I'm going to personally build asset replacements by hand, and inject them into VTM:B using Remix. This is going to be a LONG process, so I wanted to start small.
The plan is to start by remastering the entire Santa Monica apartment as a proof of concept. Once that is done, I'd like to put that up as an actual downloadable mod for people to try, then continue onward with the work.
This happens mainly in 3 phases:
Then there is a secret 4th and final phase...
Characters, weapons, and everything animated...
This is an area that needs de-risking. There are many potential pitfalls with that process.
In an ideal world, I could just remodel them from scratch and rig/skin them, then full sale replace the assets through remix (Which is my preference).
But right off the bat, just turning on RTX and adjusting some roughness values gives amazing results.
However, Source engine's facial animation system could prove to be a big hurdle there, especially since the SDK for Bloodlines has tools that don't necessarily work with some of the inherent features in VTM:B itself, since it's on a pre Half-Life 2 release version of the engine!
I have a few projects running simultaneously, so there will be times that my velocity is fairly low on this, but it's definitely a high priority for me. VTM:B Is one of the reasons I got into the game industry in the first place after all.
Wish me luck, stay tuned, and catch me over at- Twitter.com
For smaller updates.
In the future I'd like to make the posts look a bit more official, but for now, this is me saying, "Hello world!"

How do I complete the pier murder questline?
I dont know what vtmb or mod you are playing, but anyway you cannot complete that quest just in SM. You need to play also in other next maps, investigating and getting some item too. And then you 'll complete it. It is relatively long, but not difficult; and it is not a main quest, but a secondary quest.
I'm playing without unofficial patch or any other mods installed. I went to Downtown, got the business card, and i need to talk to the guy who tuh-tuh-talks like this.
That guy (Julius) is part of another quest in Hollywood. This business card you've found refers to a room in Luckee Star Motel (which is in Hollywood).
The stuttering guy is part of another quest (the second one from VV). And the business card of the pier murder quest is in Hollywood (unless you're referring to the abandoned hospital quest in Downtown)....
You know what they say: Whenever VTMB is mentioned, someone's going to play it :)
Vampire - The Masquerade is one of the game that absolutely need a detailed frame by frame remake with Unreal Engine or anything else that will make the game to look up to date but with keeping the rest of the things untouched.
Agree with you, about the Unreal engine too, but it's practically impossible for modders to rebuild it in that way. And adding also the complete 3D rebuilding - more polygons and complexity - of all (or the most of) objects, pcs, npcs inside. And effects, lights, etc. etc. It needs a great company and, again, impossible for "free". The work is immense and very long.
A compromise could be just the 3D models high improvement of current objects, pcs, npcs, etc. etc. And relative textures. (As personal limit, I am able in textures, but not in that complete complexity/remodelling)
Anyway we love VTMB as it is. No problem :)
Will this work with UO Patch 11.0?
Is anyone else having trouble with Club Confession? Is there a certain patch to fix that part? It just wont load every time I enter and says something about error model 28
Did you update your game mid playthrough and then uses an old save? Because this could be a typical result...
