Welcome warlocks and paladins, assassins and rangers. There really isnt much,like HOMM, is there? What other game is there, that makes you feel, like you are governing a kingdom, leading an unique army as a general, or a wizard, and shaping the destiny of a hero. And it all takes place in a lovingly portrayed fantasy world.
I love this type of gameplay and decision making, so i ( and a lot of other people) keep coming back to it. It really holds up, but what is with the crappy textures.
Nival (may they rest in peace) did a great job with the setting, gameplay, music and art, but its not supposed to be pixel art! I mean its not a console game, so what gives?
So, i will try to spruce up some of the visuals here, more to my liking. Just a little bit, lets not get obsessive. Just the creatures and heroes, and maybe a few other things.
TROUBLESHOOTING:
MMH55_Utility_64.exe from Might & Magic: Heroes 5.5 .Executable allows for high resolution textures to be used without crashes and is mandatory.
Still having issues?
1)Right click on MMH55_Utility.exe and check Disable Full Screen Optimization; click Change high DPI settings and then on Override high DPI scaling behavior - Application.
2)Still problems - If on Win 10, disable DEP(Data Prevention Execution)

So, i wasnt really that pleased with the original release. Some of the upscales messed up some details, or were just kinda off. So tried different scaling techniques and added some texture depth and details by hand. Still might need some more work.
So with update 2.0, i hope to finish the full roster of units for all factions, add the rest of the charakters and do proper justice to the original art. I hope you enjoy , download and leave a comment.

Hi, everything works, except terraian file. It crashes my game when I want to load any custom map or campaign. I use steam version with no other mods.
Quite likely, the game is running out of memomy. Probably need to download and apply a Large Adress Aware, to the game executable.
why no orks retexture ?
Cause i havent gotten to them yet. Simple. Release is just the base version.
Is it compatible with heroes 5.5?
Mostly yes. That mod uses its own custom terrain textures, so you cant use both. You have to make a choice there.
But creature and heroes, with a very few exceptions, should work - no problem.
