Full release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Eisenkrieg. The base installation of this modification, updated to v1.2.
The full release of the class-based shooter modification that throws players straight into the harsh winter environment that swallows the Zone as we once knew it. Temperatures remain low, just like the chances of survival, and fighting with an enemy that cannot be seen or heard might be the least of your worries... Whatever the case, your only other option is to pick up your weapon and fight!
This full release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Eisenkrieg must not be installed on top of the demo version or any other version of this mod (including vice versa) as this will most likely cause file conflicts, crashes and break many scripts within the mod. Please keep the demo version (if installed), the full release and any expansions in separate gamedata folders. See the readme.txt file included in this mod or the instructions below for guidance on installing this mod.
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
- Please make a backup copy of your gamedata folder before you use this mod. A new save game is recommended when using this mod.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
- As part of an evolving story, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Eisenkrieg brings elements of the common World War II shooter to the Zone.
- Play as either a Soviet Partisan or an Axis soldier and choose from four distinctive classes for each side.
- Pick between Casual Mode and Hardcore Mode, the latter of which will put your skills to the test and the former that will allow you to slay your enemies at your own pace.
- Experience the taste of a diverse weapons arsenal that accurately treads the fine line between fun and realism, including real-life weapon names and ammunition types that primarily date back to (and prior to) the Second World War.
- Take part in an ongoing battle between the Soviet Partisans and the Axis; go it alone or stick with your allies to come out on top.
- Released with additional fixes and features, including a new mechanic that allows players to be influenced by the harsh external temperatures of the battlefield (complete with UI icons to boot).
- Requires S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Chernobyl (1.4.22) to run. Not tested or adapted for other patches. Use with other patches is done so at your own risk, though frequent crashing may occur (hence the above).
- New game highly recommended.
NOTABLE ISSUES:
- Minor clipping issues may occur at high field of view (FOV) settings.
- NPC spawns may negatively affect FPS (frames per second) on low-end PC systems. Tweaking the population settings via the included axr_options.ltx file can mitigate these issues (works best prior to starting a new game).
- Spawning items via the debug menu on lower resolutions may cause crashes (this can also sometimes occur in vanilla installations of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Chernobyl). Resolutions of 1280x720 and 1920x1080 are recommended.
INSTALLATION:
1. Extract the .zip or .rar file for this mod. After that, copy the gamedata folder and paste it in your S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Chernobyl directory where your gamedata folder should be (as long as a gamedata folder is not already present). Make sure to back your files up!
2. Remember to have fun with it! Please tell me about your experiences with this mod.
SPECIAL THANKS TO:
- MISERY Development Ltd. (item UI icons and various weapon models, sounds and textures).
A couple of things I'd like to clarify about the latest version of this mod (which is this one, v1.2, as of 01/05/2024):
- Special thanks to a ModDB user named strelocc for publishing his Crank script for the Call of Chernobyl modification a few years ago. Because of this, I was able to rework it and properly implement the "freezing" system in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Eisenkrieg. strelocc has already been credited in the readme.txt file for this latest version of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Eisenkrieg (v1.2). strelocc's Crank addon for CoC can be found here: Moddb.com
- Special thanks to a ModDB user named undead32 for notifying me of a bug that was present in v1.1 that causes text strings for in-game tasks to not be displayed properly. This has since been fixed, but only in this latest version (v1.2) as it's the most up-to-date version. To the ~10 people who downloaded this mod before 1:40AM (UK time) on the 01/05/2024, I'd encourage you to download this mod again and delete the previous version. Both versions are exactly the same, except the aforementioned task text strings have now been fixed. Made it a priority to fix it in this version rather than releasing a separate patch as the text strings used for tasks display crucial info that can be used in-game.
I hope this helps you guys out. Have fun! :)
Jacob.
