Heavy Tanks & Launchers Actually i'm recreating the tactical guide for mechcommander beginners and players. Since NoGutsNoGalaxy.net is lost - the only copy of information seems to be the one on my personal backup. I upload the information with some cosmetical redesign here on ModDB. This is Part IX of the MechCommander/MC Player's Guide:

Heavy Tanks & Launchers

LRM Carrier

17 LRM Carrier

A more powerful version of the Striker. Engage it at short range and remember that it can fires over walls. The chassis for missile carriers vary in basic design, but they are all essentially military transport vehicles, tracked being the most common, adapted to carry the huge missile launchers and loading equipment. Those adaptations generally consist of reinforcing the suspension systems and armoring the crew and critical components areas enough to survive the back blast from so many missiles.

Rommel Medium Tank

19 Rommel Medium Tank

The Rommel was designed concurrently with the Patton in the early 3000s, when Defiance Industries decided that an armored combat vehicle capable replacing 'Mechs was needed. Since 'Mech production was nearly at a standstill, the ability to produce and field armored vehicles became a necessity no Successor State could ignore.

With its default main weapon being the massive and immensely powerful- but short-ranged- AC/20, the Rommel is best suited to close range and urban fighting, where its heavy gun can be put to excellent use. A Rommel may lie in wait around a corner or down an alley, and then use its devastating armament to cripple or destroy a BattleMech when it comes into view. The main advantage the Rommel has over other, older designs is a combination of higher speed and more armor. With even more armor than a Demolisher tank, the Rommel can sustain more punishment, yet slip away faster to fight again from another position.

von Luckner - Very Heavy Tank

21 von Luckner Heavy Tank

Designed for the original Star League after the Reunification War as a BattleMech without legs, the Von Luckner is fully capable of blasting light 'Mechs to pieces. Named after Count Felix von Luckner of twentieth century Terra, the Von Luckner is one of the few tanks to use a fusion engine, as most vehicle-mounted reactors were stripped out for use in 'Mechs during the Succession Wars. Few of these vehicles remain in service, but they are very lethal, weighing more than most 'Mechs as well as boasting 11 tons of armor and overwhelming firepower.

Schrek PPC Carrier

22 Schreck PPC Carrier

Thoug it moves slowly, beware the Schrek's multiple ER-PPCs. Beware! When this vehicle stops, it's about to fire! The best way to deal with this vehicle is to set ambushes or attack with LRMs when protected by walls or trees. If this is not possible, try to engage at short-range where PPCs aren't effective. In couple they can take down Assault 'Mechs, so be careful.
