Hi, I registered specifically to add something to this bcdedit.exe suggestion.

In my case, when I rebooted my laptop (a Dell Inspiron 1720 running Vista Home Premium as the OS), it caused a big headache. Vista failed to boot. It would show the Dell logo, then flash with a blue screen (BSOD) for a moment, then reboot and load into a System Diagnostic tool. It would run diagnostics and disk scans and ultimately conclude that it could not find the problem, or that it was caused by unspecified system changes.
System restore did not help. (I had set a restore point immediately before making the bcdedit.exe change above).

The disk scan can be cancelled, which will allow you to proceed to some additional system diagnostic tools - including a command prompt.

SO, what to do?

First, I tried un-doing the bcdedit.exe command.
In the command prompt, I entered the following:

bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOn

Then I rebooted the laptop. Still not fixed... the blue screen continued.

Further research revealed the following suggestion:

bcdedit.exe /set {default} nx AlwaysOn

Then I rebooted the laptop, and it loaded into Windows Vista as normal. As if it were all but a dream...!

Dell?
Inspiron?

Ultimate BSOD maker. I had a 1525 once. It decided that he would destroy windows... just like that. Called Dell... ¬_¬

Anyway, u understand.
Try an other computer or in compatibility mode.

had the same symptoms on my xps 1530 - decided to just screw it and stick to the disk until it breaks to be on the safe side.

Never had any issues before but this has just shaken my fairly thin patience with windows and anything remotely related to it.

Hello, I am having a really strange problem, running the game on Vista.
Well, I've tried running the game emulated for WinXP SP2, as admin, and I can run the game.
But;
Every onscreen moving object is very fluid, ships moving around, etc.
But every time I try to move the camera (change the focus, zoom, pan, rotate, etc.) the game gets more laggy than hell, with less than 1 FPS.

I have a nvidia 9800 GTX with the most recent drivers installed (185.85) also running RivaTuner (dont know if that causes a problem) Pretty solid gamer rig, Core 2 Duo @ 3.22 ghz, 780i SLI mobo, 4GB RAM, etc.

I really feel like the game is sitting in front of my rig, what looks to him like a Demi-God and he's just too bedazzled to use any of the resources properly.

Any help ?! Please ! The game doesn't crash, but it's not playable anyways !

I'm having this problem too.
The solution to get it to work 1.1 patched in Windows 7 64bit worked but I still get the screen stuttering.
I found that if you leave the build, research or launch windows open it doesn't do it, and eventually after the game had been running a while it clears up on its own.

I have followed all the steps described above and still not working. I run Homeworld 2 mouse flashes to the busy icon for about 3-5 seconds, and then nothing. If I open my Task Manager it shows Homeworld2.exe is running but nothing happens. Also If I try to end the process it does nothing and it stays there. My event viewer shows no errors durring this time. Any help would be apreciated.oh and I also set the compatability for windows xp service pack 2 and disabled all vista graphics.

Nevermind I found out (It was on my friends comp I was trying to get it working for him) that he was running a downloaded cracked version of Homeworld 2. So it is on Him to figure it out. I think I will try this game out myself on my comp (I will go and buy it if I can though. Will it run on a dual boot system (XP and Vista)?

Same problem as Dark~Violition - I wouldn't have a problem with it, if it wasn't for the fact that all the mods require the 1.1 patch.
Advice?

I'm also having these problems.
I haven't tried the solution in the tutorial yet though.
When I run 1.0, I get the outdated graphics error, and the horrible camera movement but smooth FPS otherwise.
The bad camera stuttering makes it almost impossible to play at some points.

I didn't have a problem to start the game on Vista 32bit and on Win 7 64bit.Just turning the V sync on broke the game forever...But if someone has LCD Monitor with 60Hz then you will have maximum 60Fps in game,in any game for that mather. That set up is for CRT Monitors only.
My PC:
Intel Core 2 Duo 8200(2.66Ghz)
4G Ram
ATI 3870 ASUS TOP 512MB

In Complex Mod.max detail i have from 8 to 150Fps...In 1680/1050

I would also like to find the cause of these errors. Very often in the Bin folder I find ErrorLog.files with this message. The error number is always different
