Post tutorial Report RSS Installing Tiberium Essence on Tiberium Wars for STEAM

This is a tutorial for everyone having Problems with installing the "Tiberium Essence" Mod. Just follow these simple steps and you won't have any problems.

Posted by on - Basic Starting a mod

1.: Did STEAM already download the newest patch for C&C 3: Tiberium Wars? If not update the game.

2.: Do you have a "Mods"-folder in the STEAM-directory of "C&C3: Tiberium Wars" or inside your "C&C3: Tiberium Wars" folder inside of your documents folder? IF YES GO TO STEP 3. If no create a new folder called "Mods" inside the folder called C&C3: Tiberium Wars. You have search for this folder I think, don't create it yourself inside STEAM because I don't know how STEAM arranges the "C&C3: Tiberium Wars" data.

3.: Make there a new folder with the Name of the mod, in our case "Tiberium Essence" and then you put inside this folder all data from the downloaded ZIP-file for Tiberium Essence.

4.: If you don't know how to open the C&C-startup center you can modify your steam shortcut for "C&C3: Tiberium Wars" inside the STEAM library. Just right click on it (in the steam menu) click "properties" and then "start up options" or "starting options" or "start options", something like this and enter "-ui" and click ok, I think then it should work.

5.: Start the C&C-startup center, go to "Mods" and choose "Tiberium Essence".

I hope I could help you.

the place to make the mod folder is under

user/"YOUR_NAME_HERE/AppData/Roaming/Command and Conquer Tiberium Wars

just put the mod folder here like this

user/"YOUR_NAME_HERE/AppData/Roaming/Command and Conquer Tiberium Wars/mods/

Is that if you have the STEAM version?
Because on my version without STEAM it looks like this:

C:\Users\YOUR_NAME_HERE\Documents\Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars\Mods

the folder you named is for user maps and profiles, that's how it is with mine version

The folder is in one of two locations.

C:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents\Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars\mods

or

C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Roaming\Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars\Mods

In my case it was located in the first. Also, when you create the folder, it has to be a lowercase name and not capital (I think) : "Mods"=NO, "mods"=YES

You people got the Steam-version? Is your Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars-folder located within Users/<YourUsername/AppData/Roaming?

If it is, try and copy that folder into Users/<YourUsername>/Documents. It should work then. You should keep the original folder in Roaming around as your profile's stored there, you can safely delete the mods-folder within there however.

It is possible to use this with Command and Conquer: Ultimate Edition Tiberium Wars on Origin. You just need to search for and download C&C Ultimate Collection Fixed Launchers. Here's the most current link for it. last time I searched for it, it got moved so you might have to look a little when you get to the link provided.

If you're still searching: go to that browser (second to left button on the bottom of the start center). Then another window appears, am I right? In that window you're currently on "Replays". You can choose "mods" just right to the word "Replays", just underneath the C&C3 Logo.

The mod must be installed in User\Documents\Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars\mods. Create this folder if it does not exist

Can you run the mod directly instead of having to use the launcher?

yes you can, I made a tutorial on that too. You can just create your own shortcut for each mod: Moddb.com

All my command and conquer mods were working fine. I had downloaded "Fallout" and the game crashed and the launcher refused to load I rebooted my computer and tried to rerun the game and repeated this about 15 times. So I ripped out ALL Tiberium wars mods, uninstalled all command and conquer 3 games and re-installed from steam and now I can't get any C&C3;:TW mods to work at all. I have read EVERYTHING and I mean everything. EVERYTHING to putting the mods under appdata/roaming, to Users, to documents. Windows 10 never had this kind of problem. I have looked for all sorts of help and no article seems to have helped, any ideas?

For all you guys having the problem with the Hub not finding the mod, i found a sloution that at least worked for me. Hope it helps. There are two locations folders called "Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars, the first is on whatever drive you installed it on, the second should be under your documents section. Contrary to mods for most other games, you are going to want to place the "mods" folder in the one in your documents section.

Anyway I hope that helps!

I am seeing a lot about putting it in my documents folder, but Tiberium Wars is not showing up, only Kane's Wrath.

I think I found a solution for those that have problem with this: C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Roaming\Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars\Mods

Just copy your TibWars folder from the roaming folder and copy it to your documents

That is: C:\Users\user\Documents

That's in me at least. By doing this the Mod appeared in the Mods list and launched normaly.

I hope I helped.
