- Install Soulstorm from steam. There are various reasons for this, but the short version is that there are differences in the executable between the various platforms, and as GW is notriously litigious, we will not support pirate installations.
- RUN THE GAME FROM STEAM BEFORE INSTALLING THE MOD. This will make sure that the registry entries are created, which allows our installer to automatically find your soulstorm directory, preventing the "dark crusade or soulstorm not found" error on the mod manager. Ensure that the graphics config runs, set the correct graphics card according to your hardware, ensure the "run in a window" box is unchecked as there are reports of this mode causing instability.
- Install Ultimate Apocalypse. Condensed, all you need to do is simply download the installer from . Do nothing else, do not make your own folders, change file names, attempt to divide by zero, simply run the installer.
- Install Tyranids 0.5b3, the download page of which will be opened up by the installer, during the installation process. So don't close out your web browser, its opening up for a reason. But just in case you suffered from sudden onset stupid and closed the web browser before installing it, here's a link to it.
Moddb.com - Run the latest version of the mod manager, which is included in the latest version of the mod Update it if it asks you to. ENSURE that the LAA is toggled to ON (you will see the red text change to green). DO NOT use any of the blue checkmark options on the left except for 'nomovies' Select the Ultimate Apocalypse_THB from the list of mods, ensure you see all green on the requirements, then press start mod.

Bad explanation for IDH Objecting point regarding x86 in the pc, you mean remove it from comparability files to original SS directory. Sorry is really hard what you said there. I'm not even sure this is necessary? or what is the result of it.

Yeah that part explaining the Soulstorm install paths isn't THAT simple. I'll rewrite it in a few hours, I've got some higher priority tasks (such as sleeping) to do.
After my research I understand what's going on. OS 32bits has 2 Program files one is the regular program files and the other is x86 program file.
If you have installed THQ in Program file and now you decide to use just one(x86), make sure delete everything at program file, otherwise if an empty THQ folder still remains an installation program will put folder & files on that empty folder and your mods will not go to x86.
This is the case for IDH.
I have soulstorm through steam and I can't figure out how to get the last part to work with it. Mostly because the shortcut goes through the internet instead of normal paths. It is exactly the other way around.
64bit Windows (all XP, Vista, 7 and 8 have 64bit versions and follow this rule) have a x86 Program Files folder where software that hasn't native 64bit support.
"x86" alone is a rather ambiguous label as there's:
x86-64 (64bit),
x86-32 (32bit, what the "x86" in the Program Files folder indicates) and
x86-16 (16bit, good old times).
Why M$ didn't label the 32bit Program Files "Program Files (x32)" and used an obscure (and ambiguous) number instead remains a mystery.

There is something wrong on my end with extracting the 002, 003, 004 grand install. Using 7 zip, it comes up with an error not allowing me to extract it. Dunno whats up with that.

Im having trouble accessing the new races part. ive followed all of these insructions and when i load the new races bit in game manager it just says "Failed to activate requested game" any help?

If you did accurately follow the instructions then this shouldn't happen. As I can't know where each of you missed something, all I can do is to tell you to review the steps and track down where you might have omitted/misinterpreted something.

You've got to right click and extract from part 1, with all other three parts on the same folder.
Use the 7-zip version linked on the tutorial or (didn't test it myself, but seemingly works) a recent version of WinRaR.
Question, when I D'lled UA GR it came in ONE installer file, not 4 parts where I needed to extract... Will this make a difference? I ran the installer and set the directory same as others; steamapps/common/dawnofwar soulstorm blag blah. Is this right yah?
This has a very high chance of making a difference indeed. We found that the installer doesn't extract all the files correctly in some cases, leading to a high number of pink boxes and similar errors. The 4-part non-installer/zip version is free of this problem.
To "install" with the non-installer version, follow the instructions on the tutorial (basically select "extract files..." and on input your Soulstorm directory on the extraction path). IMO that's even easier than the installer xD
Just asking, I don't have a PC and play instead on a Mac. As this mod is for the PC, I understand it's impossible to install the mod the usual way on my computer. Do you guys know a way around this?
You can set up Bootcamp and run Windows within your Mac.
I don't have a Mac to test this myself but I read from numerous sources that it works quite fine for most applications.

let me elaborate better. Whenever I try to extract the daemons mod with 7zip it cannot open any of the 2002 files on the download. ive tried downloading it multiple times from various places, but each time it is the exact same problem.
Are you using the version of 7-zip linked on the tutorial?
I didn't try this in particular, but I'm told that a recent version of WinRaR should do the trick as well.

If you have also installed them all correctly, then the main possibility is that you have the 0.5b1 version of the Tyranid mod. For UA you need 0.5b2 (linked on the tutorial).

Glad I was of help, though the UA mod was more teamwork than anything.
I'm more of a general tasks guy, Cylarne (Lord Doofus) made most of the coding, Cosmocrat put some fantastic models together, RT2 made some awesome kitbashes, Gambit provided countless wonderful icons, and so on.

It's NOT "my" mod lol (I wish I had a fraction of the required coding skill). I just made this tutorial and some other very simple stuff.

EVERYTHING (including the extra race mods) in one installer would not only get UA banned on Relicnews (it's also very active there, yet these forums have a way complicated rule set Forums.relicnews.com ) but it'd also make the installer... HOOOOOOGE.
And I can tell you never had the need of hosting something that size. It'd have to be split (defeating the purpose of this idea) as almost no file hosting service would take the job of hosting a single file of almost 1Gb in size. Not for free at least, and UA can't afford players having to subscribe to a file hosting service just to download the mod.

I tried it, exactly like you said and even downloaded 7zip again (i had version 9.20 before, now 9.30). But i keep getting the same error for every 4 parts.
Error: Can not open file as [7z] archive.
WinRAR doesnt work either and i even tried to use the repair function of WinRAR.
Download from the other mirrors didnt work aswell.
You mean, (as to be double sure) selecting all four parts, right clicking the >first< one and then selecting "extract"?

Of course i tried it without repairing them. And the repair tool didnt work anyway. I'm pretty sure its on my end. I googled this error message and one person in another forum had a similar problem where his 4 parts where supposed to have all the same size but one wasnt 700mb.
So he had to change that in some strange way, i didnt understand.
And btw i think you are doing a great job of watching over these posts here. I Know many places where you have to wait a week for a response.^^
I just updated the tutorial with information that should prove to be VERY useful.
This is also on the tutorial but, part 004 >is supposed to be smaller<, (a bit over 67 Mb). Much more info on this on the (updated) tutorial.
