Welcome to my Tutorial on mod tools for Dune 2000...
Before we begin modding the game we'll see the different kinds of tools available for our own modding...
Thanks to Barnaby Smith aka MVI the Dune Community has got the first mission modding tools for the game Dune 2000 and till now many mods have been launched...
The main tools are given below...

Map Editor - Kolfac's Campaign Map Editor
Mission File Editor - MVI's Mission Editor
User Interface Layout Editor - MVI's UIL Editor
User Interface Table Editor - MVI's User Interface Table Editor
Tiles Editor - MVI's Tileset Editor
Sound Editor - MVI's Sound Effect Tool, Vladan Bato's Sound Converter
Stats Editor - Van de Sande's TibEd
Custom Sprite Editor - Magic Team's Image Converter, Total Commander with GAUP plugin
(PS: Although the following tools are freeware but do not misuse them in any way)

MAP EDITOR (Kolfac's Campaign Map Editor)

Kolfac's Campaign Map Editor is the best editor out there for editing mission maps...
The author cannot be contacted for updates as he seems to have gone off grid...
The map editor uses the tilesets and few files to create .MAP files for the game...
Although SHAI HULUD map editor is better for map making Kolfac's Campaign Map Editor is the only tool with mission elements in it...
The interface is easy to understand...

MISSION FILE EDITOR (MVI's Mission Editor)

MVI's Mission Editor is a carefully built .MIS file editor which is able to create missions fast...
This tool was created with the help of few FED2k community members...
The tool contains Index Allocation Changer, Sat starting money, Alliance Table, MISAI file importer and exporter, mission triggers, conditions for triggers...
The version 0.4 is not available as it is still under construction or has been abandoned....

USER INTERFACE LAYOUT EDITOR (MVI's UIL Editor)

MVI's UIL Editor is used to reconfigure and arrange the UI layout of any screen found ingame...

USER INTERFACE TABLE EDITOR (MVI's User Interface Table Editor)

MVI's User Interface Table Editor is used to modify strings, colour and other .UIB files...
The tool can change any ingame string, change the ingame colour etc...

TILE EDITOR (MVI's Tileset Editor)

MVI's Tileset Editor is used to open and modify tileset which are used ingame...
Example of modifying tileset will be ggiven later...

SOUND EDITOR (MVI's Sound Effect Tool)

MVI's Sound Effect Tool is used to open SOUND.RS file which contains all taunts used in the game...

SOUND EDITOR (Vladan Bato's Sound Converter)

Vladan Bato's Sound Converter is used to convert the .AUD file to .WAV and vice versa...
With this tool we can add custom music and other taunts into the game....

STATS EDITOR (Van de Sande's TibEd)

Any command and conquer original fan would know about this tool...
Van de Sande's TibEd is used not just as a stat editor but also can be used to change the ingame sprite but not add a custom one...

CUSTOM SPRITE EDITOR (Magic Team's Image Converter)

Magic Team's Image Converter is not known by many till recent times...
This tool can edit 8bit sprite used ingame but is not able to do so for 16bit files....

CUSTOM SPRITE EDITOR (Total Commander with GAUP Plugin)

This tool can be used for modifying a lot of games but here it can extract r8 and r16 files with most of the data...
