It's good, it would be legen - wait for it - dary if there was something like Research & Development to vote for this year as well. Good games and good mods this year around as well though.

Some good stuff this year, although I think anyone could guess Minecraft is going to win something and be correct. ^_^
Minecraft should defiantly WIN in my opinion. It's an incredible and well thought out game!
Yah alot of big projects this year. Obviously minecraft is gonna win the indie lol. Doubt my project will get in there is just so many awesome indies this year :D. Let the competitions begin :D.

Off to a bad start right now. I see news posts with already "vote us" in the title. That should give insta-disqualification. It's okay to promote your stuff but making news posts only to say "vote us" is a total waste of front page space.
Otherwise, is the "unreleased" category still included? Last time I voted for the removal of this category to cut down on the "attention whores" trying to snag a price slot with faked informations. If I'm not mistaken MOTY got gamed two times with such a project in the recent history, right?
One time being that left 4 dead "mod", and the other one? Sorry, my memory is a bit off. But good points, though.
I think the other had something to do with KOTOR mod or something like that. Can't remember anymore. The first incident of that kind as far as my memory serves me.
I think I remember some mod like that... didn't know it got to some of the Moty nominations, though.

I agree that unreleased mods shouldn't be contending at all.
It's not hard to fake content and generate hype, judging a mod based on what the developers TELL you is very different fron judging a mod based on how much fun you had PLAYING it.
Not really my thing...
Come to think of it, I haven't played very many good mods that came out this year...
The really good ones(that I've played) are all old.
The reason why I think it legendary?
It's something no other website has, it's creative, intuitive, something that brings the community together. It's also a great intensive to win prizes, meaning lets build the best mod(s) to win!
All in all, a fantastic addition each year.

MOTY in general is something very useful at appreciating good mods that deserve to be in the spotlight longer! But MOTY 2010 is just MOTY for a new year and i don't think there is anything different but it's still awesome like always! :D
the only thing that I found strange is the lack of sponsors. But everything looks sweet as always!
Per year its more and more awesome! Great job, DesuraNET. Its getting better and better :D
Its the glory and the satisfaction of knowing that others think our work is worth all the time and effort we have put into our mod.

Legendary. Always loved the enjoyable MOTY awards! Just hope Desura doesn't remove the unreleased category..... It's the only category (besides perhaps the beautiful category) that my game could qualify for....

You know, I keep hearing Jim Rome use "wait for it" a lot before he finishes his phrases, and I noticed it's used here as well.
When exactly or at least around a ballpark idea did this "wait for it" start being used in that context to create a pause before finishing sentences or thoughts?

The awards get better every year -- this year is no exception!
MOTY is always fun. It's fantastic that there is "choose-the-best" competition for game mods.
Still making my mind. I mean the whole idea of MOTY is something moddb.com should be really proud of, and I love it.
This year however I am not that amazed on the stuff released. And I miss stenchy :P .
