I have seen alot of good mods come out this year, along with some promising ones being started up. Let's hope we can carry the momentum into '07!

terrible year for mods. Maybe its because games are getting harder to program for. Can't think of one good mod to come out this year.

eternal silence 2 was good, and iron grip was ok, but that was about it in the TC department. I just wanna know wtf happened to black mesa. we've been waiting a half a year for an update. i know its not dead and the community wont let it die, but seriously. Cause everyone knows black mesa is once again gonna steal the spot for most anticipated.

My attitude towards modding changed this year, from the hopes and dreams of amazing total conversions being released mid-year for HL2 and farcry...and, no, nothing solid...then discussion shifted from current engines to next-gen engines and entirely new mod ideas...all kinda drifting towards uncertainty, faith dwinding.

Still, nice to see people keeping up with the art side of things, matching the super-high quality models and new tech..really impressive, but takes longer to produce i'm guessing.

Halogen was canceled, that ruins the whole year.
Everything else either died, or still hasn't been released.
Can't say i have seen better because i haven't, first time i been here for a full year. Been here for a bit longer, but... only by half a year

In 04 / 05 all of the next-gen games came out (HL2, Q4, D3, UT2k4, BF2 etc), and all modders switched from the oldskool titles to them. Unfortunately these engines are more complex and making a TC takes time, a great team and a crapload of skill - plus it really was a few years before we saw great mods coming out for HL1, Q1, D2 etc.

So give them time, there certainly are plenty of old, new and upcoming mods that I want to play! It'll be interesting event - and we will be showcasing all the mods we can! Plus I believe quite a few are nearly release intime for X-MAS 06!!!

I thunk it was a very good year for modding community. In my opinion was UT 04 the game with most mods this year!!! I hope with Grobi that the next year will better ( if it's possible )

I agree with chris701, Bf2142 is basically a mod itself.

Personally I thought this year was pretty bad. HL2 mods took it especially hard with VALVe's new SDK, they really took a kick to the nads when it came to overall speed. This is what turned me, and I'm sure many others, off when it came to Iron Grip and ES2, I was pumped when I read about them, then I got it installed & connected and it was so laggy.
