Attention ZPS Fans:

We are proud to announce that 1.4.1 is now available from Steam! This light update to 1.4 includes mostly tweaks and bugfixes, as well as a few minor features to enhance the current gameplay system. (Special thanks to Silicon for helping to keep the linux binaries tested and functional.)

We hope you enjoy playing ZPS, and hope these updates keep you guys excited about what is around the corner. Some of the changes, if they make it, may change ZPS as you know it.

Without further ado, here is the current change list!

=====1.4.1 (12-1-2008) =======
-Autovision and noscoot cvars should now save settings.
-Zombies can now lunge "through" knockback.
-Bullet knockback has been significantly reduced. (Slowdown on bullet hits only apply now).
-If a carrier disconnects, a new carrier will be chosen.
-sv_usescustom cvar now added for people who use custom plugins. This will help differentiate standard gameplay servers from ones with gameplay modifications.
-Fixes for various ladder bugs.
-Fixes for various maps.
-Flashlight will now flicker out after extended use, but will recharge at the same rate. Use it sparingly.
-Some minor sound tweaks.
-Infections have mutated, and no longer take an exact amount of time to fully turn a human.
-Zombies can no longer walk. Also walk is now disabled during panic.
-Stamina meter now indicates whether or not you are walking.
-Toggle keys no longer stall out respawning.
-Hitting the lunge key without taking any action should now have very little effect on your feed-o-meter.
-Collision system is now a bit smoother.
-Tweaked M4 recoil, and M4/Shotgun damage levels.
-Bug where dryfire would repeat if you started to shoot a rifle while reloading is fixed.
-You can no longer drop ammo while you are trying to reload a gun.
-A few helpful messages will show up if you are trying to do something that an in-game timer prevents you from doing too often.
-Alt firing while underwater with certain guns no longer plays a dryfire sound.
-Backwards bunnyhopping is no longer possible.
-Fixed a bug that prevented footstep sounds from playing when you are extremely weighed down.
-Removed some meaningless console errors.

Some non specific screens from developer games to enjoy. Expect new content in our next update (Very shortly, cause we're too crazy not to work through the holidays).

ZPS > L4D and I don't even doubt about it, you know why?
Maybe L4D got the WOW Factor, but it fades away after a few days of playing & than it gets super repeatative.
ZPS is more fun for more time, but I still cannot really play, I keep crashing when I try to use the flashlight =(

2 games that shouldn't be compared other than as games in general or your own take on what zombies should be like.

The games are quite different and you should be able to enjoy both. Fallout 3 gets my vote!

Very good update but i didn't like the flashlight, the battery ends very fast =/

would be cool have a flashlight model, and the light flick and has an animation from the model being punched, i don't know xD

The flashlight lasts for 2 minutes before it completely dies. It starts giving signs of batteryloss 40 seconds before that, the light shrinking a bit and flickering near the end. Try not to use the flashlight unless you really have to. Each second of it being turned off equals the same amount of time in new battery power to use, but it wont go over 2 minutes, that's the max time/power.
