but, hey, it's worth it man.
Today, I bring you a portion of what we've been working on these *looks at the last big post* 3 months. Here goes..
First off, we've been working alot with the hud, as you can see in the picture below, we've done away with those silly hud sprites and decided to add in a small 'character doll' to represent the character. Also, those old low quality health and mana flasks have been replaced by nice pretty ones.
Another feature, which many people have wanted for some time now, are special attacks. Each class of weapondry has thier own charge attack that may be used at any time. For example, the charge attack for bows allows you to fire a high-speed high-accuracy shot, and the battle axe will send you into a frenzy against your foe.
And now for pictures!
There are now nice shiney and reflective areas in the game. This really isn't that big of a deal, but it's a nice aesthetic feature.
The time system we implimented a while ago is now into full swing, nolonger is it always day time. We've added a day night system for everyone's pleasure.
I know how so many of us had been confused about what chat mode we were in, and what chat mode other people were talking in, but no more! Three seperate buttons for three seperate modes, and each mode shows up differently both on the chatlog and in the text box.
Remember Helena? Everyone's favourite 'hangout spot' (until the server crashed). Well, those insane attacks are gone now, and the town has been rebuilt.
We also have a new map to show off. This is a VERY dangerous area and is reccomended only for high level players. Little specific information is know about this area, other than rumors of some insane mage that used to live out there. Few people dare venture into the parts for fear of thier lives.
Our modeler and animator have also cranked out a new first person arms model. We've done away with the old cruddy low quality arms model and replaced it with this beauty:
Weather! Oh, wait, I mentioned that last time, didn't I? Well, we've made some changes. There are now different kinds of weather, and they will be randomly changed during play.
We've also updated the character selection screen to use the character models, and show some information about the server (mapname, LAN/Internet)
And last, but surely not least...I know server admins have had issues with characters 'h4x0ring' up thier stats. Well I have good news! I just saved a bunch of money on my...wait, I mean, through the magic that is Dogg, we've added memory encryption to prevent modification and server-side characters as a last line of defence for server admins.
Oh, one last thing: We will have this released by the end of the year, and more than likely earlier than that. So stop bugging us! :o
