If you recall one of our older updates, I promised in 2019 we would let you guys in on some stuff we wouldn't usually talk about publicly, which is why I feel it's important to put this out there.

Visually, the game could look a lot better. in 2018, I fell into a kind of a working trance where all I did was produce rushed mech after rushed mech, promising and hyping things that we could show off. I knew in my heart of hearts that these assets aren't what they could be though and over the holidays, when we took a break and spent time with our families, I came back and realized that once I had taken a step away, I wasn't satisfied with how the game looked. This means a big revision of our art and unfortunately, a longer turnaround time for future mechs. With our smaller scope, we are still committed to producing a game in a timely manner and though we will have to wait a little longer, I believe this is the best course of action we can take.

We're going to start with a complete rework of the iconic Cougar. You guys will get to see how these changes will effect the game soon.

That's the bad news out of the way. The good news is that in every other aspect, the game has been progressing. Our programming department has been producing better tools for debugging and other quality of life issues. Things only get smoother in-engine. We're also looking at some cool new UI changes That will give the UI presentation a bit more character as well as bringing it closer to the Original MechAssault look you all remember. Though we can't go much deeper then that right now as the plans have yet to be cemented 100%.

Also, in case you missed it, we teased our latest map on Discord and Twitter. Twitter.com It's coming along very well and it's almost ready to show off. Can't give a solid timeframe yet but keep your eyes out for more glimpses at the environment in the future. I can't wait to share more with you guys.

That's all for today, not much I know, but we'll be back with more as soon as we can.
